Rifle primal strike

Hi !
I plan to make a rifle primal strike build and I’m still hesitant between occultist and demolitionist as my second class. I wanted your advices mostly about the best defenses’s options against everything (from the common mobs to the big badass bosses). (I can’t twink this toon with ubber_gear_from_the_hell_of_all_madness_lulz he’ll wear only what he find).

Thanks for your help !

PS : I will not be a Druid.

I think Occultist would be a great supporting class, especially later in the game in Elite and Ultimate.
Curse of Frailty slows your enemies, Vulnerability will lower their elemental resistances which means they’ll hit you less and you’ll hit them (a lot) harder.

I think, Occultist is better too. His main benefits are reliable resistance reduction (curse) and 12%physical/100% poison resist buff.
Demolisher isnt a bad choice, but his resistance reduction is hard to place well, and no resist bonuses. He has flashbang for miss/fumble, but you can get those somewhere else too.

Flame Touched and Temper seem to be a great DPS boost too.

So, do you think a conjurer build with a good HP pool and regen combine with Blood of Dreeg and constellations that proc life regen could work well in ultimate with a self-found gear ?

Thanks !

Hmm see sig

Flame touched - yes. Temper - no.

I think, conjurer will work well. Try to get Tree of Life constellation then - Primal Strike consumes insane amounts of energy, and that extra energy regen will be very useful.
And you better rely upon Wendigo Totem, not Blood of Dreeg.

BTW, i recently crafted a Vortex of Souls, and it doesnt have piercing property. Was it nerfed?

Hmm it looks that way to me too.

Piercing projectiles property doesn’t show up in description. It still works though. But the mere notion that you need to know about some hidden property, which could only be found out on an outdated third-party site, in order to get a build going, annoys me to no end.

its not op, as discussed extensively in my build thread, it won’t be nerfed don’t worry.

Actually, Primal Strike works well even without pierce. It’s just becames much more AoEish with pierce, that’s all.
