I have a big list of suggestions, smaller list of complaints and a little note with couple of praises (Soul rewards rebalancing in SR? Let’s gooo), but as a peace offering I want to start small.
Righteous Fervor transmuter should be 100% Acid
In spirit with transmuter changes on FoI and AAR but also because this Acid/Vitality split doesn’t make any sense in terms of any sane dual damage build, I think it’s time. Vitality RF gets it converted thru items, Acid RF just loses out on Fire conversion for no good reason.
aside from weird end balancing perception aside, it also doesn’t really seem to be useful for levelling,
Most weapons either have base phys or base vit, while the only flat fire source in oath is a bit on smite, everything else during levelling will be “wasted” if someone accidentally takes the transmuter for a vit RF build/beginners don’t understand the conversion interaction.
Makes it seem like it’s the “dual dmg support/waste not” intent, when the game otherwise still was and keeps being more and more about funneling mono dmg, while only Veterans or conversion equation students get what’s going on.
*it’s not so much about the dmg efficiency impact for levelling since MC isn’t restrictively scaled. Bbut more not giving the “conflicting” conversion confusion message right from the get go, as it seems conversion remains one of the more confusing aspects to newcomers.
Might then also be better to simply have a, early vit RF enabling levelling MI
*and if it truly is a bigger concern for endgame/“acid RF not spiraling out of control”, could simply not convert the fire to acid on transmuter but leave it left to global, so it’s just a 100% phys → acid 'muter
Agree about “message to new players” concern. Game kinda tells you: “Hey, dual damages are okay buddy, don’t you worry about a thing, here, press this transmuter and we will do it for you”. But then it’s actually really hard to do a hybrid Vitality Acid melee build (even if transmuter workd like 50%/50% of each damage type to Vitality and Acid).
Don’t think there is any concern of Acid Righteous Fervor builds becoming op tho. They are not even on the map when it comes to melees.
