So, I love this game to bits, but since reaching level 50 with my first two mainchars, I realized that suddenly, all rings and amulets I find that are at and/or above the level my char has require too much spirit for me to use (I play a blademaster, just for info) and I question what this is supposed to tell me…
Am I supposed to build spirit above the one that my mastery gives me, jsut to be able to wear endgame-jewelry? Cause since spirit does not at all seem to benefit my character, that feels like it is not very well designed.
I remember that in Titan quest, jewelry had a clear “only-level-requirement and no stat requirement” thing going and although, as I said, I totally love this game, I cannot help but question the design choice of stat-locking jewelry with physical boni behind a spirit-requirement…will i have to wear lvl 40 or so rings and amulets even after reaching max level? Or is there a point at which jewelry suddenly requires less spirit again…I would be happy for some construcitve input and to hear others opinions on the matter.
It’s the same with high level armors that require high physique. Casters don’t get to wear the tanky armors because of that requirement most of the time. If everyone could put everything, then there would be far less build diversity. You could get higher spirit through the constellations and from items. Also the requirement for jewelry isn’t as high as physique. It’s a lot harder to get above 900 phys with a caster than to get 500 spirit with a melee build.
Spirit maxes out at 313 in value required to wear rings and amulets for level 75 jewelery, 715 for caster off-hands.
Physique for armor maxes out at 970.
Cunning maxes out around 500ish IIRC.
Simply enough, you got to invest enough points to wear what you want from your attribute point. For most people, that means 5-10 points in whatever they need to wear stuff, usually spirit or cunning, the rest goes into physique.
With non mage characters you will often need a handful of points in spirit to use end game jewelry. Don’t worry about it for now imo though if you can spend a few points to equip an awesome ring then why not. Maxing out both mastery bars will eventually provide you with a lot more spirit
Not for a Blademaster, which the OP is playing. Blade masters have the lowest spirit growth of all the possible combos, leaving them below the 313 mark even if they max both mastery bars, 290 IIRC. Not hard to get that 23 spirit, but they don’t naturally hit the minimum.
I think they rose the spirit requirement for level 75 rings and amulets. The Belgothian Sigil i have asks for 328 now and Avenger of Cairn 322.
But still, i only needed to put 7 points in Spirit to be able to wear them. Then again, i’m getting around 20 from devotions. So around 10 points in Spirit is enough to wear them, if you max both mastery bars though.
So to the threadstarter, this isn’t exactly an issue. You get around 90 points or so to distribute between stats.
