Ritual Circle issues

The Black Scorch Covenant set grants the active skill Ritual Circle, which is buffing the player as long as they stand in the circle. The skill is pretty cool but has some issues:

  1. RC is bindable to a bunch of damage dealing devotion skills, such as Flame Torrent, Eldritch Fire and Vampire Fangs. However, none of these skills are able to proc from RC. Unlike Inquisitor Seal, RC is only a player buff that doesn’t affect monsters, therefore cannot proc the aforementioned devotion skills.

Suggestion: Remove RC from the list of potential devotion proccers to avoid confusion.

  1. RC can target enemies although it doesn’t affect them at all. If a part of an enemy ends up just slightly beneath your cursor when you cast RC, the circle will be placed right under the middle of that enemy instead of where you were aiming. If you don’t wanna waste it, you have to aim away from any larger monster. This is easily observable in that special SR level with that giant shielded boss monster in the middle.

Suggestion: Change the behavior of RC so it cannot target enemies anymore, but appears exactly where the player is aiming, or at the players current position.

If that’s not possible, scaling the radius to the size of the enemy (like that trap skill from Devil’s Cage Hauberk) should help.

This seems very likely…but have you tried using pet attack command on a dummy?

yea but it does nothing, it’s only a player buff

I support your tests. Even with pet command, you can’t proc them.

I think the reason is, ritual circle is just buff and don’t have attack compartment.

exactly, that’s why it should not be able to target enemies like it does now.

Why not make it so when pressed it just spawn the circle directly under you? Surely it saves alot of hassle.

We’ll make the ritual circle trigger attack devotions on enemies that stand within it in v1.1.5.0.

That said, still probably not the best use of a devotion assignment.
