RItual circle on chaos AAR

Ritual circle has on it 28 % casting speed. Thus when you build chaos AAR Warlock you either build for 200 % CS without it and then have too much of it or have far less CS when it is down if you build for 200 % with it. CS from Ritual circle should be moved to the off-hand on the set. This much casting speed should not be dependent on a cooldown skill. It is OK with phys res and TDM but not with casting speed.

Agree. Maybe give off-hand half of casting speed bonus, at least it will be consistent in such case.

i always felt like it was there to “counter” slow debuffs, and you were “supposed” to 200 without it. (like how everything is this “situational” bonus on Circle)
It then goes to the overall unreliability of the pet/circle that’s been brought up many times because of the huge downtime it has, where you might even have some just ignore it or build without it because it can’t be counted on enough/to be worth it

Sadly one of those things that hasn’t really changed over the years, and seems greatly underappreciated set bonus because of it

Ritual circle is a too outdated design. 25 seconds cooldown and 15 seconds duration, 60% theoretical coverage rate. But in SR runs, you won’t stay rooted. You may only stay at one combat location for 8-10 seconds and then rush to the next combat location. The actual coverage rate may only be 30%.

Worse still, Ritual circle has only 3 meters radius, even smaller than Inquisitor Seal. Everytime you evade, you go out of circle. :disappointed_relieved: As a comparison, Banner of Doom and Eldritch Shard have 8 meters radius, and the two have much better cooldown and duration. Deathstalker’s rr aura is 10 meters radius and it will move with players.

Ritual circle should have shorter cooldown and increasing scope.

It would be good if it worked more like an Inquisitor Seal. Spam more of them but with smaller bonus. Chaos AAR is strong anyway.

Figure I’d chuck in my 2 cents on the Ritual Circle (RC) as I’ve been enjoying the Black Scorch Covenant set during the latest PTR. With my Current Chaos AAR Warlock I’ve defeated Callagadra, Lokarr, Moggy with some augment changes, and can comfortably farm SR 30-31 in HC, hopefully that is enough credibility for build viability and this thread.

I’ve been getting around the cooldown issue with Aeon’s Hourglass, which brings that 25 second cooldown almost to between 16-19 seconds depending on when Aeon’s ticks align, as there is usually a second of delay between next cast and spell duration ending. Which then of course limits use of that set bonus used more regularly to being crafted around Aeon’s (Or Eternity, but I think the CDR is slightly worse on it).

The size being 3 metres kinda sucks for more difficult content, such as higher SR and superboss fights, as while the extra phys res is good, all the other stuff that can damage you still hurts and you end up having to occasionally hop out of the RC to stay alive. (but then again, there are Chaos AAR Warlocks face-tanking Ravager in under a minute getting use out of RC with zero cooldown modifiers being applied to it. (YouTube credit: @banana_peel)

Increasing the size of it would be good so you can hop around inside the RC and keep blasting. I’ve been using a 3 jump strat for managing time around RC when the volume of BS gets too much to stand in RC for. Pop RC, get hit with a bunch of garbage, ewade and fire up AAR again, use movement skill or ewade again when it gets too much again, and then move back to the RC again. It’s a lot, but it works, and Aeon’s helps reset movement skill cooldown also

This is my second time posting here, and first time really dipping my toes in HC properly, so be gentle  I’m not sweaty enough to build god-tier builds, I leave that to the pros haha
