Safeguard + Eye of Reckoning Question

As I understand it, if you’re dual wielding, Eye of Reckoning only uses the main-hand weapon when calculating its damage.

With this in mind, does Safeguard add damage to your main damage stats, or does it count the shield as an off-hand weapon separately? I.e. does Safeguard damage contribute to Eye of Reckoning?

Safeguard only works with a shield equipped

I’m asking about if you have a shield equipped and are using Eye of Reckoning - will Safeguard add to the Eye of Reckoning damage, or will it not count since the added damage is in the “off-hand”?

Just try it naked with dummy, then with the shield. i’m interested to know the answer too.

It’s just a passive stat, if you have a shield equipped it is a global bonus, as it would for any other passive or buff.

I’ll check it out and post the results when I get a chance!

Also another question: does Eye of Reckoning proc crits? If not, how important is OA for EoR builds then and can devotion skills which proc on crits work with it?

Safeguard adds flat damage to every weapon damage attack when you have a shield equipped.

And yes, Eye of Reckoning crits.

Just did a quick test - it looks like the damage increase does indeed work for Eye of Reckoning.

In this case I’m guessing Oleron’s Rage is probably slightly preferable to Celestial Mandate for a physical EoR build then for the extra OA.

Afaik adds to shield only same way shield training used to in vanilla before 0.6

Which can proc % chance like smite or Shattering Smash?

no you can read it from the skill description it does not say “when used as your default attack…”

Is there a list of skills which can crit/work with “activates on crit” skills?
