cant put a sand pit down on any of the sand mines
Welcome to the forum. 
Are you trying to put an ordinary pit on to an infinite sand pit? Because infinite ones need a t4 building; not the t2 one. To see if it’s infinite hit the F4 key to show resource amounts - if it shows as 00/00 it’s infinite.
