[Savagery 2h ranged Ritualist] Can I get some feedback on new build?

After lastnights enlightening conversation about primal strike and savagery, I’ve put together my ritualist the best I know how. I could use some feedback and possible ideas. The whole build has been a moving target, so I’m not even sold on skills yet. Same with devotions. Currently I’m using Bone Harvest for my AE, since Upheaval turned out to be a damage loss for single targets. Bone Harvest has an added benefit to adding cold and vitality damage to all my attacks if kept up. Plus, I love the animation.

Oh, and one more bit of information. If you are not aware, the Mythical Vortex of Souls pierces through enemies.

Try Krieg set + curent hat+Direwolf crest.

I only have Krieg’s helm and shoulders. I do have a Dire wolf crest, though the build does mostly aether damage, I’ll give it a go.

Does anyone know why my links don’t show the picture? I have them in the tags {img}{/img} (actually []), but that doesn’t show anything.

Direwolf Crest is a bust. I lose 3 Savagery points, and the proc only works with dual wield melee.

Updated Grimtools

I have an update. I found that the Diviner’s chest peice has 30% Elemental to Aether conversion, so I went ahead and put that on, along with the shoulders, which gave the 2 set bonus of +130% aether and vitality. The DPS went up 9K, but I did lose a little OA/D and 24% stun restistance, but gained HP. The Ultimate training dummy times are improved by almost 10 seconds.

Am I starting to let my defenses down too much?

Went farming and found the Krieg’s grips. Maybe I’ll get lucky and get the chest and boots before long.

Some ideas:

  • of Kings on your boots for more stun resist. You will have to make up for the OA elsewhere
  • If you’re comfortable with weapon switching, have Blessed Steel on your main weapon and Seal of Corruption on your secondary weapon. Switch between the two for RR. This allows you to dump Manticore entirely for something else. Maybe Revenant. The loss in absolute RR should be made up with 100% instant on-demand application reliability and having better devotions. Sacred Strike inherits 100% pass-thru so it can be used against multiple enemies. It also does some pretty nice damage especially with your elemental to aether conversion. The reason why it needs to be your main weapon is because switched-away weapons freeze their cooldown timers. Your secondary weapon can be anything; you only need it for the aether corruption skill which doesn’t have a cooldown.
  • In your build, both Shaman and Necromancer have about 8 skills that really benefit from +skills. So you would do well from either shaman or necro relics. Maybe consider Impurity or especially Mogdrogen’s Ardor instead.
  • 12/12 Decay will help you facetank some tougher enemies

Maybe use a Conduit of Wild Whispers with 100% lightning to aether conversion on Savagery.

I don’t have any boots of the Kings atm. I can sacrifice some damage and get the stun on my shoulder pads, as you can see by the first setup. Maybe I will try to roll some better boots.

I don’t like the idea of switching weapons. That can be a huge damage loss with the time spent switching.

I do have a shaman relic.

I was running with Ravenous earth, unfortunately, something has to give. Savagery is an absolute skill point hog with the added WPS’s needed. Maybe after I hit level 100 and do the secret quests, I might have enough to go around.

I do not have the recipe for Conduit of wild whispers, but I’ll look into that if I get it.

Appreciate the feed back. If I were to use a 2nd weapon with blessed steel, what might the devotion tree look like then?

If you’re implying that he could then drop the Magelord rings and Diviner’s Raiment, I assume he also wants to convert the cold damage from Bone Harvest.

For starters, you could put the points from Manticore into Revenant. You could even get skellies if you wanted by removing Crossroads Chaos. Or get Alladrah’s Phoenix (requires Wraith -> Panther). Maybe go crazy and get Arcane Currents. Actually it doesn’t look as crazy as it seems because Attak Seru provides a lot of DA so you don’t need Solemn Watcher. You even get the 5% OA node from Ulzuin’s Torch. Chariot of the Dead provides some Cunning so you can spend more on Physique. OA and DA remain almost identical on average (taking into account Wayward Soul). Health is about the same if you reset attributes and put fewer points into Cunning. You get a bit more stun resist. So maybe give this a real shot and see how it goes.
