Scaled Hide or Mutated Scales?

Hello Everyone,

Scaled Hide and Mutated Scales overlap slots and both have beneficial effects that I want for my blademaster. I have over 1k armor in every slot and 88% absorption without the scaled hide (100% with) but removing even a single mutated scales costs me over 500 health. Health is good against any kind of damage and armor is only good against physical so I’m inclined to think that the mutated scales are the better choice. What are your opinions on these two components?

Generally I can’t afford to use either. Usually all my components go to resistances. If I’m lucky, I can free up my chest and glove components, because both of those have good options.

I’m kinda curious. What on earth are you running that you’ve got your resistances covered already? Just using a couple good greens or what?

after all is done and I cant reach 10k… I may resort to using mutated scales… if u can afford to do away with both better… like wasting some points to scars of battle :rolleyes: but for me armor absorb>hp…if have 10k hp already at least… that 100% absorb is too useful to pass up given u have max your other resistances

All builds benefit from one scaled hide very well. If you can afford it use it.

@nssheepster I have a couple good greens including a totally boss pair of solael pants and good exalted gloves/boots on top of a 4 piece deathmark (still can’t find the stupid sword, not that it would fit this build anyway but it’s still frustrating :mad:)

Everyone else, thank you for the input. I think I will start with the scaled hide and switch to mutated scales if my health feels insufficient.

I just added 2 Scaled Hide to my character (Sorcerer) and god damn this is a day and night situation. Of course life is usefull but unless you are starving for it (like 6k life) go for the Scaled Hide

Strange for 1.2k armor character 2 scale hide would reduce phyz hits by ~300flat dmg. That shouldnt be noticable with life pool over 10k HP. Personaly i wouldnt use scale hide unless i can stack at least 1.5k armor.And even then its not a clear winner against larger HP pool.
