I tried the Biting Blade skill from the Seal of Shadow.
In it current state it’s bad to use at any point in time.
The blade gets in the way of EVERYTHING, then stop. Most the time it doesn’t turn around your character at all because it gets stuck at the start of it’s casting.
The casting seems way to long for a skill that seems to be though for melee since it start from you and go outward in a spiral. Everytime I clicked the skill it didn’t activate because you gotta stop what you are doing just to cast it. Casting It should be as fast as Ring of steel/frost!
Because of 1 and 2, trying to even cast it is a lost in dps and time. I almost got killed from trying to cast it :rolleyes: The struggle was real
Hopefully some change are made to make the skill usefull. Or change it’s mechanic, for exemple the blade could turn around and close to you for 3 secondes with a 2 sec CD… with a fast casting animation and the blades shouldn’t get stuck everywhere!
Anyone else have tried it?
I mean it litereally get stuck in walls, terrain, rocks, tree, everthing!
And then the casting speed animation is way too slow for a melee build
This skill are MORE terrible than a blade trap (at least BT are work on some weak enemies), and this blade don’t work at all, strange (stupid?) behavior, stuck in everything.
There is two way (except deleting this skill for sure):
Let it be possible to throw this blade in a straight line, without any foolish scrolling in a spiral
Use mechaniks from this pistol, the blade is the same (in appearance), but it does not get stuck in anything and works well.
This is more of a problem with active abilities on components in general outside of the ones you can use at level 10. They’ll never be as good as a skill you’ve leveled…so why are we putting them on level 90 components? There’s a reason Seal of Blades and Might are the good ones.
Some others are good too, also Seal of Blades will be fixed in the next patch. All in all, you won’t be able to assign proc on attack from the devotion, the Seal will be considered as a buff like Field Command from the solider mastery for exemple. That said, it will see be a good overall components for the Life leach and the % armor.
As I said, I’d like the skill from the compornent to be better, especially for melee acid builds. My suggestion to make the blades whirlwind around you and close to you for 3 sec with a 2-3 sec CD seems about right. It would also be more fun overall to use. All it needs is also a faster casting speed animation, something like ring of steel/frost!
Personally I don’t find any of the component skills (new or old) except the passive ones (seal of blades/might) to be worth the time/effort to cast but we can disagree. On low level components it makes sense since we haven’t leveled up masteries yet but at level 90 you’re unlikely to want to cast any of these as an active skill unless you like mashing a bunch of actives all the time with a cooldown-based build.
