I find it a bit strange that Possession, which is universe Solael taking over your mortal body, provide acid and poison damage. Thats look more like Dreeg domain. So how about removing it from Possession and moving it to seperate Dreeg related exclusive skill.
Since we know that Dreeg send nightmares to his followers, skill can be exactly that - horrific visions from Dreeg. That would be also a bit more “mage” related skill compared to a bit more universal Possession. And since Possession allow you to still push two types of damage, to somewhat balance it we can add some bleed to it. As for not I see it as something like this:
For level 1:
Horrific Visions
Description: Being noticed by Dreeg is not an easy live. Your are plagued by insane visions bestowed you by peerless god, which force you to weep acidic blood in sleepless madness
Effects:
12% energy absorbtion from enemy spells
10 acid damage
+25% Acid damage
+25% Poison damage
+25% Bleed damage
2% chaos resistance
50% sleep protection
For level 12:
Horrific Visions

Effects:
15% energy absorbtion from enemy spells
42 acid damage
+135% Acid damage
+135% Poison damage

50% sleep protection
To compare this skill to Possession
1)Damage absorbtion converted to energy leech - dreeg is clearly more magic related god compared to solael. Damage absorbtion look thematically correct for witchblade god, so I feel energy leech suit insane wisdom god as well. Builds with Horrific visions would be more fragile then now with Possession so I’m not sure about it.
2)Flat acid damage at exactly the same amount of damage as chaos damage provided by Possession on similar levels.
3)Bonuses for acid and poison transplanted directly from Possession
4)Bleed look a bit strange as I don’t think it’s particulary “Dreegy” damage type, but since lore state that Dreeg “bleed” it might be ok there. I mainly think about it here so skill would be somewhat on par with Possession, which provide bonuses to four damage sources.
5)Chaos resistance is the same as Possession. Changing it to Poison and acid resistance I feel is useless - its not hard to come by with poison resistance.
6)Skill disruption turned into sleep resistance just dew to flavour text I come with for it. Since its significally more useful resist compared to Skill disruption, its cut to half compared to possession bonus. Still not sure about it.
As for comparing it to already existant “Path of Three” from Oathkeeper: THis skill would lack damage conversion, which makes Path of Three much stronger for melee in my opinion, however thats one of the reason why I feel even 50% sleep protection might be a bit too much. Thats rather strong bonus, however skill cooldown reduction is also great skill bonus. So I feel this pretty much won’t touch acid/poison sentinels in turm of boosts. As for other acid occultist builds they should mainly left the same, just becoming more frail compared to possession one. However bleed Mage Hunter would get useful exclusive skill
For position in skill tree is a bit harder as Occultist is already quite crowded, but I think it would look ok after Aspect of Guardian in third from bottom line
