Shadows updaterate

I’m noticing that shadows of buildings and trees have their shadows updated only every 250-1000ms at 1x speed (changes depending on time of day, it seems. It follows simulation speed too), while villager shadows are updated more frequently (unnoticeable). It gets quite jarring when your city grows larger as you get this shadow update “blinking effect” over your city… It doesn’t seem to be affected by shadow quality setting either. Is this intended behavior, or is this a bug?

Would be nice if there was a video setting for this so we can adjust it to preferance/fps.
