Shaman - Blood Pact - Testing values help

Playing Grim Dawn 1004, either the tooltip for this skill is incorrect, or the buff is wrong, or I don’t understand this skill.

Could someone test this and confirm?

Blood Pact is the skill tied to Wendigo Totem on the Shaman mastery.

With 1 pt in Blood Pact:

> tooltip: 33% chance +5% attack damage converted to life
> test: character sheet shows +2% lifesteal increase

With 2 pts in Blood Pact:

> tooltip: 33% chance +8% attack damage converted to life
> test: character sheet shows +3% lifesteal increase

Furthermore, the increase in lifesteal is tied to the buff visible on your buff bar (that also increases bleed and vitality damage), and is constant as long as the buff is up, I don’t understand where does the 33% change to trigger come from. I suspect it means it’s 33% chance to trigger the whole buff, and not just the lifesteal part of it, but it’s difficult to tell because the buff is up after 1-2 seconds anyway every time.

What gives?

Edit: Another explanation could be that the tooltip is incomplete, and the buff gives you a flat increase to lifesteal whenever it’s up, and the 33% chance to trigger x attack damage converted to life is actually tied to the damage portion of the Wendigo totem and not the buff itself.

I think it is showing you the “average” you’ll get from the buff.

5x33%=1.65%=2%
8x33%=2.64%=3%

For example, if the “odds” work out and you do 100 damage on each attack. You will steal 5% once every three attacks. 5/300=1.6%=2%

Thanks, I hadn’t thought of that.
