In the forum I did not come across anything concerning SR lore, yet. Nor was I able to go into higher shards, so:
Will there be some explanation concerning SR lore in higher shards?
I also don´t mind being spoiled…

There are only 3 lore notes in SR given at the player once you complete the respective quests for beating certain shards (like beat shard 5, 15 and 25).
It doesnt give much info apart from what i gather SR was once a world created/ruled by a god called Ryloth (or something of that kind). As usual with prosperity of the people they wanted more and more of the gods gifts then openly revolted when they didnt got what they want, toppling temples dedicated to the god, stopping praying etc - directly diminishing his divinity power. Ryloth just left this world which resulted several centuries later that without his divine intervention (at least how i interpret it) the sun/start of the world died. That allowed for Yugol to slowly approach the planet and absorb it (lore notes are written from the perspective of a native person depicting the upcoming apocalypse of the world seeing Yugol`s tentacles in the sky/cosmos approaching etc.).
