I’m slowly wrapping my head around shield mechanic.
As with all other shield discussion, let’s assume 100% recov and 100% (or very close) block chance, because otherwise it’s not really worth much.
I’m asking to anyone who’d have been looking under the hood (or read from someone who did), I’m not expecting anyone to figure this out through playtesting.
Let’s use Fabius as an example . Assuming he doesn’t proc any of his WPS, doesn’t miss/fumble/crit, no reduced damage from any source (including absurd DA) etc…, a base hit from him in SR31 will deal 1534 to 1961 physical damage and 896 cold damage.
For easy math, let’s say the hit we’re dealing with is 1792 phys and 896 cold (realistic, and that make the amount of phys exactly 2x the amount of cold), for a total of 2688.
If the amount of damage I can block is 2000, I should be able to mitigate most of it… but which part ? Is it spread as % based on the amount of each damage type ? So I’d block 666 cold damage and 1333 physical damage ?
Or is there an order of priority between damage types ?
Since block mechanics apply before resistances, and phys res is virtually always much lower than the others, it’s fairly relevant.
