Should Inquisitor Seal just appear on your feet?

As title, i think Inquisitor Seal should appear on your feet and become an instant cast spell. Would be a huge quality of life. The only other scenarious are that in multiplayer, you might wanna cast it on your friend i guess, but you can help him by closing him anyway and multiplayer is not the main focus. Other than that it deals small damage but if you are using it for damage, i mean c’mon…

Nowadays we are getting (possibly, subject to change) some great quality of life changes like new Wind Devil movespeed and AI updates for next patch. Why not go further on other topics?

But these are my thoughts. What do you think?

Personally I don’t mind the spell being somewhat targettable. The cast range is about as bad as for totems (Storm Totems specifically would actually feel quite a bit nicer with a longer cast range IMO) so even if you press it on an enemy you are pretty much standing at the edge of it. I’ve also found the feature situationally useful at predictively counteracting ground effects. The ability to precast the Seal behind me so that it’s up and active before I back off into it out of Kuba pools etc is quite handy, whereas autotargetting below the feet would require you to back off and leave yourself vulnerable for a few moments until the seal effect arms. Could be particularly deadly if you need the resist overcaps.

Personally, i mostly use it on ranged characters and i have to constantly push back my cursor on myself to cast it. What i propose is them to be also instant like blood of dreeg (no animation windup) that would make it feel really good imo. But i get your example. It’s the 3rd advantage of having it targeted.

I always cast seal where I want to walk to next, not where I’m standing at the moment I cast it. So imo seal is fine as it is.

you stayed as a noob

But if it casts on your feet and is an instant spell, that means you dont need to aim first, you just press it and immediately get the buffs. Its literally the same but better

I don’t think you can configure Pet cast to be under your feet, only some radius around you but I may be wrong.

Except that seal is actually not instant. It takes like a second until you get its buffs.

I know how it currently functions. Thats why im also proposing it to be instant/no animation cast.

My bad, well yea then it would be ok. Pretty much the same as it already is though (at least to me). Guess I’m just indifferent to this topic then.

+1, since in the very few cases where I have used it, I have found its current placement to be a bit “clunky”.

+1 since this makes seals viable for players using a controller

Me too, I dont use inquisitor seal because it is too cumbersome for me.

It’s like no one plays with bonemonger helm making stepping stones for yourself! (and providing RR)

Agreed with this. Seal is SO useful to create “safe spots” to move to when too much ground damage piles up in high SR, etc. I would hate it if you could only plant it at your feet.

But I do agree that the animation speed feels clunky/slow, and instant casting would be nice. I sometimes “cancel” the long cast animation by accident and it’s annoying.

I think casting at your feet / at the targeted location should be a one-point transmuter.

It already has that transmuter that nobody uses tho lol

Nobody except Requnix, that is. Way, way back when I was new to the game I was following one of his guides and he had that in the build. I was far too green to know it was shite (it already had both -AS and -CS then).

It also used Rune of Hagarrad with literally no cold support in the build. Great times.

But anyways yeah lol.

I’d like to see the range of the magic circle expand on a rank scale like in SoC.
