Sick and tired of getting the same legendaries over and over and over again

What can i do to change my luck?

I like self found plus i look on the trade forum and seems everybody already has a crap ton of the same legs.

I think I have a better chance at winning the lottery then getting a new and shiny leg set piece i need.

The best way to increase the odds of getting a legendary you don’t have is to play longer game sessions. One you obtain a legendary in a specific session via a drop, it can’t drop again (Crafting is not excluded in this). Longer sessions where you farm more content, as a result, reward more legendaries that are different. You generally end up getting fewer legendaries per unit of time, but by forcing them to be unique from past drops that run increase the odds marginally of getting something you have never seen before.

Also - because drops are random (with a slight bias if you have any parts of a set) you are going to get periods of poop drops.

Anyhow, because ultimate difficulty one shot chests have about a 50%+ chance to drop legendary items, running multiple builds through ulitmate can be pretty fruitful for building out your stash of them. Along with what ever else drops from enemies.

Lolwhat? Is that true? Any proof?

Have as to if I wear them I get better chance? Or have them in inventory or stash?
This could explain some of my observations, if true.

So if I play for 2 hours and then pause the game (space) and then continue after a while, does it all count as a one session?

Yes it does.

In game code, when there is a roll for legendary first it checks for session legendary drop list and if it is dropped in same session, then it rolls again but does not check second time.

Please someone confirm.

Guess finding several runic bracers within an hour was just my imagination then  happened with other pieces as well.
Playing longer sessions or not has nothing to do with rng.
This isn’t Titan Quest where a new loot seed is generated when you start a new game.

I think this is wrong. It rolls for the second time if same legendary had dropped in session, but after second roll there is no check. So still there is a chance that same legendary can drop with lesser chance. At least it was like this 6 months ago

Please someone confirm.

100% wrong, you can drop two legendaries “Stormreaver” within 3 minutes as I did last week.

Runic Bracers are not legendaries, they are epics. Big difference. Yes. They are very good epics. But an epic is an epic.

If so, that’s a bug that should be reported to Crate, as they patched it a while back. Or did you craft one at the Celestial smith? That has no lock at all on getting a new copy, you can get a billion copies of a legendary via that within a single session.

you have less chances to get the same legendary in the same session but it still can happen. and anyway, the more legendaries you get, the harder it will be to find a new one, there’s nothing to do to prevent that :undecided:

So it was a bug, both were normal drops

No craft, just regular drops

It´s probably just RNG, but some legendarys drop “almost never” for me, especially jewelery. But you are right of course, I got plenty of legs, finding one I have never found doesn´t happen all too often.

That’s very unlikely.

That is one way to increase those odds.

Another way is to simply do “runs” or “farming”: ie starting a game just to attack the best droppers the closest to rift portals around, like D2 players did for like 10 years… This appears per time unit more efficient, although the randomness prevents from confirming one method over another to really be the best.

I do agree with the original post that there may be a problem with the drop system.

False and wrong. Like gibly said, longer sessions don’t improve RNG.

I got more than 2 Stonefist Rebukes in the same session more than once. Sometimes thrice in the same session.

In less than 1 minute I got 3 Ulzuin’s chestpiece (2 from Kilrian and once more 30 seconds later killing Nomos Dread). Needless to say all the ulzuin’s pieces I have are 4 chestguards

The way the loot system works for Unique items is:

If you get a particular Unique item in a given session and then the loot system rolls the same Unique item later in the same session, it will attempt to reroll that item several times. If it fails to roll a different item after X tries, it drops the original item.

Am I correct that the enemies’ gear is excluded from this rerolling treatment, so that you can get duplicates because of what they have equipped?

Yes, enemies generate their equipment differently, so they are not considered for this exclusion.
