Can we please ask to add 100% physical converted to cold for pets on this item (besides the conversion on Briarthorn)?

I looked over most items in FG and it seems like if I wanted to play lightning pets like I did in AOM, all the items are the same.
There’s just nothing good enough to replace the main items of a conjurer (that wasn’t built around familiar.) That being beastcallers, overlords, fiendflesh and wildshorn. Those items are just too good for a conjurer.
Am I the only one who thinks lightning pets is top tier potential?
IDK why you guys didn’t like/play it before but now that raven builds aren’t (shouldn’t be) a thing I can see lightning being more popular.
Unless a different element type is just flat out stronger. What do you guys think will be the strongest conjurer setup would be?
Raven builds will be the thing based on new Bysmiel set - since no double Briarthorns, we are free to take other masteries now instead of Shaman.
Please share the build of lightning pets you have in mind.
What?? I don’t see people using that set over beastcallers for conjurers and I also don’t see cabalists using it either. Pretty sure double raven era is dead.
Double briar is still a thing…
I was looking forward to just having 3 shocky birbs but looks like that dream is dead. Maybe I’ll still do 2.
Having 2 birds means you aren’t as sturdy as beast callers and that you don’t have the double briarthorn.
The Ritualist pet build with Ghol’s set posted by Lind seem really nice! Pretty excited about this!
Lightning pets were already good, especially if you supercharge. That was my first 170 HC Gladiator clear, and it felt pretty alright. I didn’t even have a fully optimized (read: not by sigatrev) build at that time.
You can even opt for a more power-centric build now with Hand of Ultos/Eye of Korvaak potentially. Especially because of the fact that it was discovered that the RR on Hand of Ultos isn’t as bad as we thought it was, making it a fair bit better against high lightning res targets (the RR formula turned out to be wrong and this RR happens before RR from manticore/elemental storm – more info at http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78624 ).
The biggest downside on lightning pets is Arcane Bomb can’t be triggered by pets – we have to trigger it ourselves with things like Dreeg’s Evil Eye, and it has a delay before it goes off (read: doesn’t apply very cleanly at all). Thankfully you can just use Wind Devils and skip it, especially because its a 6 point devotion.
Also familiars really helped the single target on lightning. They’re getting nerfed, not buffed. I don’t know how you think lightning pets are going to be better now that ravens are nerfed considering their main damage is lightning…
To say the familiar builds will be bad I think is just wrong. The new set even enables Mantle of Mogdrogen to be used without losing that much, or alternatively Fiendflesh Mantle. You can get to 22 lightning strike now, which is one of the most insane AoE nukes you can get. On top of that, it converts almost all the relevant damages to elemental, only pierce gets left behind but we had almost nothing to lower pierce res in the first place anyways. Leftover phys can be covered by offhand or mainhand, where there are 2 options to convert the remaining physical to elemental. Wind Devil gaming for RR. You also have a toggleable 20 type A RR much like witching hour, so while elemental storm is better RR (and you’ll probably get it anyways) your res reduction is extremely consistent, and consistency is good. Oh, and the amulet 'skill has a heal too, so your pets are less likely to die. My only concern is the lack of pet damage on it, but then again Will of Bysmiel didn’t have any offensive pet stats on it, just the 2nd bird and the CDR on primal spirit.
Thanks for noting the new bleed res pet augment sigatrev, I missed that one. That’s gonna be really massive considering Bleed Res is mostly just available through seal of might, ishtak, and a few purple-centric constellations. And of course, Caged Souls affix, but good luck finding a good item with that that you actually want to use. My main campaign farmer was actually skelecabalist with mogdrogen as my t3 simply because Ancient Grove was the main problematic thing that I ran – kuba with low bleed res on the skeletons meant they died fast. With this I should be able to change up the devotions to something that makes up for the loss of the Mogdrogen augments, especially with the %health since cabalist doesn’t get much of that. (the port valbury bosses were also a problem, but I saw no good solution to that on a skelecabalist…)
I meant like ultos weapon, raven devotion, the 2 rings that are lightning conversion and not 2x familiar
How about a “pet” build of another flavor.
The Chillwhisper set turns the player scaled Blade Spirit into a Cold damage dealing monster and with itemization you can summon 2 more of them to have 4 tricked out Blade Spirits fighting with you. However the Chillwhisper set then largely suggests you may want to face tank with drain essence in squishy gear… and that seems dumb.
So plan B. More player scaled pets! Gaurdians of Empyrion with up to 90% Fire transmuted to Cold! Raise Dead with up to 90% of the Aether converted to Cold and up to 36% of the Vitality too! And good old Nemesis the Cold damage murder kitty with no conversion needed.
The difference from the order of application is pretty small, +/-8% depending on the target’s base resistance (assuming you’re using Elemental Storm for 32 RR).
If the target has >16 resistance before applying either, you get more of a benefit from applying Hand of Ultos first.
If the target has <16 resistance before applying either, you get more of a benefit from applying Elemental Storm first.
Assuming you get -65% from CoF + Raging Tempest, that means you’re worse off against anything with less than 81 base resistance, which is most things.
This order of application does help against very highly resistant targets, but the difference is not significant.
Yeah, it’s not an amazing amount of RR (and afaik if you had a lot of -res, like with arcane bomb – it didn’t matter at all) but it’s enough to do something.
Does remind me to look more at the winter king pets though on that note, since speaking of having a lot of res, rumor…
And yeah, for the lightning pets stuff, thats what I did for 170. Again unoptimized spec in terms of procs but it did use 2 briars/familiars. The loss of that 2nd familiar definitely hurt it. It can still work fine with the yeti to take it’s place though. Ultos weapon, glyphs, etc. The annoying thing is that the +skill bonuses on those items are pretty lacking for the permanent pets.
As for the blade spirit build, 4 blade spirits sounds very fun. Don’t know how to feel about the rest of the pets unfortunately.
Hi,
I’m looking forward to the new ghols malice set :D,
but i have one question…
If we have 2x Blight Fiend, do their debuffs (Rotting Fumes) stack?
They are 2 different pets right?
If anyone could answer this many thanks for it :D.
greetings
I’ve always avoided Pet builds till now (only tried this deceiver and a Yeti-Winter Trickster). Druid, being one of the weakest masteries right now, didn’t receive any help in FG unfortunately. I’ve landed so many TSS with mine that I want to refresh my experience with this character.
What do you think of this Yeti + Briarthorn Druid?
I don’t understand pet builds that well. I couldn’t decide for instance what rings to use: Kelpha for %speed or the new bysmiel rings for acid conversion and resistances (for webweaver pet from the ghol glove).
Fumble doesn’t stack. It’s like Confuse from Flashbang and Horn of gandarr for instance.
Thanks…
Sorry for not clarifying but what about the DA reduce? That stacks?
It’s like RR. “%” does, flat doesn’t (the higher one wins).
Trickster with all cold pets sounds interesting, but does Pneumatic burst heals yor pets like BoD?
At the time, I made some tests with the help of thepowerofmedicrity and it wasn’t that good. Devo path and item choices were hard to synergise properly.
Edit: to answer your question, PB = self heal.
