Sigil of Consumption mechanics...

What are the mechanics behind Sigil of Consumption? I see where its “radius” is increased per skill level, though it doesn’t appear larger when cast.

Do I have to be within the circle to benefit from the ADCTH? Should I always cast it centered on myself? I’m just trying to get a handle on the tactics of using it.

Thanks, as always!

Actually difference in size of sigil are perfectly noticeable then you compared size of sigil at rang 1 and sigil at rang 12

No

No, you must cast sigil on enemies, than THAY stay in sigil’s borders - THEY take damage

The radius does increase but not by a ton so with only one extra point it might be hard to see. No you do not need to be inside the circle, it just needs to hit enemies.

Casting it right in front of yourself is good if you’re melee, when enemies clump up around you, you will hit them all. With ranged it’s not quite as good becuase they will walk through it as your kite so they wont get hit by the full duration

Yeah, I’m attempting a Fire/Chaos Fire Strike melee Pyromancer. I’m assuming that the aoe damage from Explosive Strike triggers ADCTH if the monsters are in the sigil…

Nope. The ADCTH applies only to damage that the sigil itself does.

Well that certainly explains some things. Thanks.

I have a question about it as well and I didn’t want to start a new thread: does the “lifesteal” effect of the spell apply to Destruction’s damage as well?

Yes.
