Skill mod proposal for aether Forcewave

For now only Edge of Sanity grants Forcewave modifier to convert physical damage into aether. However, as it was discussed in here, this skill mod is pretty bad.

I would like to propose to remove the modifier from EoS and grant it to Mythical Temporal Arcblade (this sword has no skill mods) with some changes.

Taking into account that aether damage has not DoT, but we have good support for aether & lightning damages and that we already have a good example of such mod for elemental damage - Mythical Arcanor, the proposal for aether Forcewave skill mod is as follows:

  • 100 Aether Damage to Forcewave
  • 100% Physical Damage converted to Aether Damage to Forcewave
  • 100% Iternal Trauma Damage converted to Electrocute Damage to Forcewave
  • Optional: 30% Piercing Damage converted to Aether Damage to Forcewave (referencing to this prefix)

P.S: Would be great to get feedback from community and Crate team on this.

What you are proposing about the DoT part is not possible to my knowledge. All the DoT related conversion affect their flat version and vice-versa. This is why we don’t see “100% Internal Trauma to Electrocute” on Mythical Wyrmbone Mask.

Should be possible since aether has no dot

But i’s a lot of FW spam stuff, basically arcanor but with aether. Personally I wish Arcblade made CT a phenomenal beast and that the proc would be as devastating as sharz’s

Would be great to get comments from modders or Crate if such conversion is possible.

As for CT skill mod you have mentioned - I think we need another 2h weapon more suitable for this purpose. Arcblade is focused on aether & lightning support.

Well, if the part of the proposal about the DoT conversion is not possible, we can consider another approach fro skill mod. This should be possible to implement and match sword’s concept:

  • Grant more flat aether damage
  • 100% Physical Damage converted to Lightning Damage to Forcewave (and hence 100% IT will be converted to Electrocute damage)
  • 100% Piercing Damage converted to Aether Damage to Forcewave

it has all that cast speed for CT spam really. And you can’t do transmuted CT+devastation unless they made a mod like spellscourge.

Yeah I am with not having yet another Forcewave variant. CT could use some 2h support as you said and Arcblade is perfect

Also, if IT is to be converted to Electrocute then a part of Physical will be lost to Lightning. Mainly because the conversion of DoT and non-DoT is linked. The skill mod would have to be
100% Physical to Aether
100% Physical to Lightning

Since we don’t have any specific order of conversion then the damage breakdown of FW will be a clusterfuck

To add to this, any CT mod would benefit both WoTA CT and spam CT. Since the weapon has both CDR and Cast Speed required for both playstyles. Its’ tailor made for the skill.

You cannot choose a dot type when creating conversions. You can only choose base types.

Which one of them? The DEvastation thing or FW?:smiley:

I would go for FW, for obvious reasons myself. But I wouldn’t mind if we get both…

Yeah, I like both ideas. So my proposal is:

  • Grant Forcewave mod skill to Arcblade - it is the best choice to suppot aether & lightning focused builds.
  • Grant CT mod skill to new 2H sword - legendary version of Wrathmourne focused on aether & fire damages, with attack & casting speed and having, for example, devastation proc.

Does it sound good for you?

P.S: Most likely Crate won’t grant both skills mods to one weapon.

Granting CT a new weapon is redundant since we already have Arcblade supporting both CT playstyles.
If Aether FW is to be a thing then that’s the one that needs a new weapon

Do you mean by playstyles attack & casting speed support? I can’t figure out why Arcblade is the best candidate for CT mod skill since it grants support for aether and lightning sinergy, while by default CT supports aether and fire? The proc Aether Conduit does not seem to me to match CT concept. Also the sword concept is focused on support for melee and caster aether & lightning builds.

I guess aether FW skill mod should be a thing since we already have skill mod on Edge of Sanity introduced by Crate.
