Is it a flaw or a feature that traders work so slowly?
A trader pulls up to my trading post.
They want shirts.
I don’t have any shirts in the trading post.
I send my guy to get shirts from the warehouse, where there are many shirts.
30 days later the guy who wanted shirts leaves, without any shirts.
2 days after that guy leaves the employee who went to get the shirts comes back with the shirts.
Why does it take an entire month to walk down the street and put a pile of shirts in a wagon and bring them back to the trading post?
I dont have this problem.
2 employees, stocks close to the trading post, they can charge hundreeds of stuff needed in time.
Maybe the distance is an an issue for you ?
Also don’t wait until a trader arrives before stocking the trading post. I put stuff I want to sell in the TP in the last part of the year so it’s ready when traders arrive in the new year.
This. Always have storage facilities as close as possible to the Trading Post set to stock the stuff you may want to trade. Makes restocking the Trading Post so much faster.
Even more important, plan most of your trading at the beginning of the year. Right after the new year starts, I pause the game long enough to specify what quantities of everything I want to trade that year in the Trading Post, so that the workers have plenty of time to move most of the goods into the Trading Post before the first trader arrives.
The only time I have to move more goods into the Trading Post during the year is if a second or third trader shows up paying good money for the same good that I have some excess of: then I may have the workers move some more into the Trading Post to maximize my profit.
