Small statue anachronism

Not trying to nitpick, but the clothing on the small statue is definitely not from the period of this game (medieval times). Especially telling is the tricorn hat, and the ruffles on his chest (called a jabot) which didn’t become popular until the 1700’s.

So? The game uses medieval and colonial themes, not just medieval.

There is nothing in this game that’s “colonial”. The half-timbered style of the buildings, the armor (hauberks and plate armor), weapons (crossbows and pikes), defensive town walls, and other details make it obvious the time period of the game is at least 3-4 centuries before “colonial”.

Whether it’s in the game or not that’s what the devs have said the game’s themes are based on.

You’re talking about technology. I believe it’s the fashion that’s of the big European colonial era.

The medieval era was not noted for its female heavy infantry either. :grinning:

Interesting discussion. :slightly_smiling_face:

That said, I quite like the idea of FF not getting stuck in one particular, predefined era. It is rather a fantasy world we live in, isn’t it, with a subtle merger of themes spanning several centuries.
