I try to set up my Smokehouses near clusters of Hunters or Fishermen and then specialize their use. It will backfire when they walk all the way across the map for 10 raw meat/fish, but usualy works out.
The only problem is that when setting up a new Smokehouse, the initial setting is 1 meat: 1fish, and the new Smoker will immediately queue up raw fish and raw meat, even if I quickly set the initial setting to either 0 fish or 0 meat. So, I’m stuck with unused but unspoiling meat/fish in a Smokehouse. What’s the solution?
This amount of raw meat/fish is insignificant so you can just ignore it.
But yes, it would be nice if we could pre-set production ratio while the building is still under construction or at least disable it beforehand.
If there are more than 20 raw you can let smoker to process it and then change the ratio.
Disable the building when the worker goes to collect things, adjust ratios, reactivate.
Tried, doesn’t work (usually effective, so it’s what I often do, but has failed sometimes). I think the queue is set by the building first.
Literally works every time for me. Are you doing this paused?
I sometimes forget about new smokehouse and when I check there is already some unwanted raw fish
