I love the look of the deepmire monsters and the thornedhorrors look particularly vicious. but just out of curiosity.

Groble - Ember Clan Savanger.

Is that meant to be a hero/champion type monster or is it just the way its name is and all those critters are Grobles?

They’re all Grobles, so by my guess we might be seeing multiple clans of them, which is why the devs might be stressing the fact that that particular Groble is from the Ember Clan (fire damage-related?).

That could be the focus for an expansion even. If a GD expansion is totally focused around a set environment (possibly in the north of Cairn, snowy mountains and the like) you might see a “Chillwind Clan” of Grobles or something, that deal cold damage, even if that’s a bit cliché.

Know your grobles:

There is a lot of variety with certain enemy types too. For instance, grobles are divided into five clans that each have different colored markings and use different skills. Sky Clan grobles can call down lightning, lob frozen orbs, and strike with an electrical melee attack while the Ember Clan has flame shot, ring of fire and can call down meteors on you.

The grobles have a shaman who can chain-heal and if there is more than one in a group, it is often difficult to kill anything until you dispatch the shaman.

Yeah the red pluses are healing effects. In that screen the groble shaman is using chain-heal. When there is more than one shaman, it is extremely hard to kill anything unless you stun / kill the shaman first or unleash a devastating amount of damage at once, which is always an option with demolition. Other classes tend to have to target the shamans.

Anyone know if there is any plans for Steam Workshop in the future? Not a deal breaker but it be awesome if it got the same treatment like Torchlight II did…any idea if they said anything about it?
