Been playing Grim Dawn for nearly 40 hours now on the Steam Deck, and I’ve seen a few issues over the months arise. Some from patches, and still happening on the 1.2 beta.
Crackling sounds with the audio.
Not sure if from either a SD update, or one of the updates in the recent year or so. But when I was playing GD on the SD about 8 months ago or so, there wasn’t any crackling sounds coming from the audio at all. But now, in Stable and in 1.2 beta, there’s crackling noises happening, especially when the background music is playing. It’s not 100% of the time, but it seems to be around 40% of the time, this issue happens.
Cursor/Mouse icon stays missing for several seconds until shown again
While using the D-Pad, if and when the cursor disappears such as being idle for X amount of time, once you start moving the D-Pad and going over items, whether it’s your inventory, or where the cursor hand can go while using the D-Pad, it stays disappeared for a good few seconds before reappearing. This happens on the Steam Deck. When I’ve played GD on my Desktop PC with a controller, the cursor immediately shows to where you are moving it. So possibly some time-out issue while playing on the SD? Happens in the Title Screen, as well as menus in-game.
When using Gamepad the “Split Icon” has the wrong icon.
Currently playing on 1.2 beta, and not sure I saw the “Split Stack” in stable, possibly a few feature? Not sure. But nonetheless, the icon in the menu UI show’s the “R” or what would be right stick icon. But on controller and on Steam Deck, it is attached to the “left stick”, therefore should be the “L” icon. No keybinds are altered by me, and I’ve re-installed the game recently, which defaults all changed keybinds back to default.
As you can see in the pic.
There are a few other things I’ve seen but have forgotten, so when I remember them, I’ll update this post accordingly.
