Some general feedback and ideas on Inquisitor seal

When I make my builds with inquisitor mastery, I always think the seal is a must-have (how can you not turn away from that beautiful absorb and stuff)… however…

I do realize it’s more trouble than it’s worth right now, due to how small it is (3.8m according to grimtools), and also realiability. Let’s say, others on the internet have already pointed it out - it’s not spawning below feet. That would be a quite logical thing to behold though. Yes, pet hybrid dreams shattered, but barely anyone dares to play as them anyway.

I know it’s transmuter extension has been changed (a couple times now?) from evade chance to recharge/energy cost reduction, tho I honestly liked that evade chance better. We could move it to its’ second node and not put big numbers like before but like start with 2% and increase to 15 by maxing that node out. I think it would make that seal way more attractive to use and spend skill points on, but not only that… make the seal a bit bigger like 5m.

Another idea in my head was (if you guys remember when fighting those council aether guys), …when stepping on the seal we get the same treatment where, if step on the seal, we get those spinning protective effects around us. Of course they only do so when u are within the rune area and that would be also easier to tell if you are inside of it or not imo where it can become a bit crowded.

What are your thoughts about the seal?

Not this seal but it looks nic tho.

P.S. I seen a rare commodity of users claiming they adore everything about inquisitor class and it should be kept as it is and simply not use it if they don’t see any value like I do, however it really boils down to specific take, I guess. I just don’t see how these few changes would “worsen” the gameplay for anyone. Instead - improve it.

Yes. I want this for a long time.

I would like to love seal, but I kinda hate it. There’s two situations:

  1. You have to move around: I have a hard time ending up in the seal, so half the time I’m outside. (Also ground effects accumulate, so once you are in you quickly have to move again)
  2. You’re facetanking and feel invincible: It’s nearly impossible to place it underneath yourself, as you easily hit the hitbox of the (often bigger) enemy and it gets placed underneath them. Plus it’s already a pain to move the mouse away and place the seal while you’re trying to attack and then when it ends up in the right place… that’s when I say fuggit and put my points someplace else.

And for both I fail. Might be a skill issue, but I end up hardly ever taking it.

So yes, I would love it if it’s a little bigger, or always spawns underneath your own feet or some other QoL thing.

There is a number of offensive mods for seal though. There’s also a question of placing it where I actually plan to go in 3 seconds, not recasting it where I stand. Please don’t nerf it for no reason.

It is a clunky skill, I agree, but this will make it even worse.

Very fair points so far.

Ok, for this maybe a “empty node” attachment should be made where u could “invest nothing” so both parties benefit. For example, if I want below feet, I invest in that empty node (doesn’t cost any skill points but acts and looks like that way) or just don’t do anything at all and invest seal like you normally do and you can play similarly as now.

All AOE skills should be cast at the mouse cursor and not on the targeted monster. This is especially important for Seal.
