When designing concept art for environmental objects, are you asked to get an idea of how it will be breaking apart as well? Or is that a complete separate entity altogether?

I dig the aesthetic a lot. How much did you flesh out the context of it? Are the cracks under the rivet from construction or from stress? Also, what kind of lectern is this? The base suggests it’s for standing, but the proportions would make it hugely wide. Very cool.
