Like, you know, those cases where people can’t get through some entrances, usually after defeating a boss.
So there seems to be an unassuming detail which I identified in case of Tomb of Archon Barthollem bosses. The gate behind them is also unlocked after their defeat, BUT! In some cases I was unable to go through the gate and had to “wait it out”.
(just a reminder of what gates I’m speaking about)
Curiously enough, it was happening more often with Barthollem as dungeon boss. Then I’ve noticed that I have burn damage on me. After it ended, I was able to go through! Some fire affixes have +burn duration on them, and Barthollem himself has a skill that applies burn for 8 seconds, apparently.
Similar thing is present in SR as well. When you enter a boss room, boss music starts playing. When you defeat the last enemy standing, it stops playing. But in some cases it doesn’t! The most obvious examples were with builds that had stuff like Arcane Bomb, Thermite Mine, Inquisitor Seal placed during combat. Only when they expire, boss music stops.
Conclusion: the doors/passages unlock when combat ends, but having bosses’ DoT or a pseudo pet placed during a fight with him will somehow interferes with that script, “telling” it that there’s still enemy presence about.
Well, at least it is how I interpret this, anyway. Not sure how useful it is, but I though maybe this would help you guys investigate into this issue.
how does this explain doors being locked going into the boss (same place btw)
also happens a lot at cronley gate for me
unsure how long/what patch, but tomb gate leading into barthollem/malkadar, cronley entry gate, and Seal of the Loghorrean (maybe couple others i can’t recall atm) have this “slow loading” where the door doesn’t open on first click
loghorrean seal after getting rid of blood wagons i counter by just teleporting to the rift right beside it, loads the barrier right up/away
cronley and tomb gate i have to “walk back” some meters, as if back and forth “over the finish line” for the loading/script
Yeah, I was thinking about those as well. Couldn’t figure out more concrete reasons for them to behave so, but before Cronley you also encounter mobs, maybe they create some interference; gate before Bart/Malkadarr is okay overall, I’m always able to go through it even if engaged with trash mobs before it - but it doesn’t let you pass right away, need to wait ~2 seconds, yeah. Log’s seal I’ve only encountered once I believe, rifting somewhere else fixed it, can’t say much about it.
Not familiar with conditions for the game to allow passage though, so it might be a “drifting” issue for all I know =\ Maybe it’s akin to Agarrad twins where the cause is undefineable.
no mods, game is verified and fresh installed multiple times since it first happened
unsure if it’s hardware/driver related, some wonky settings interaction in my GD settings, or some weird instance of my SSD/cpu being faster/slower than the gate trigger, either way it’s curious, but far from detrimental or something that annoys me to any remote serious degree
I sometimes find the issue in the lever SR room in multiplayer where my friend (client) gets blocked by an invisible wall but I can walk in normally. And it only ever happens to him, not me. Pretty strange bug.
It sure as hell is. I’ve seen reports of people having trouble to go through DC gates even.
I did some small test today: went out of DC to engage some mobs just outside of it, placed some Thermites and Mortars, and ran back to DC gates. They opened I was able to go through just fine.
Same with Cronley: placed some of the stuff to keep his goons busy, went to the door and… had no trouble entering his room.
Goddammit, I thought we might have a lead on the matter, but I guess not? Bah, whatever.
Bumping this thread with another rather funny find: SR boss music not stopping extends to Guardians as well. If they’re unsummoned, it stops. But if you summon them again, music also starts playing.
