Some positive feedback on the new UI

As well as nitpicking, I wanted to feed back on two changes that are better than I expected.

  1. The orb-based HUD. I expected that I was going to try this and hastily go back to classic. Actually, it’s better than classic - better organised and more compact. I think it’s the right call to make this the default.
  2. The main menu. The old version had an alpha feel to it and was the least polished part of the game. One can cavil over details, as I have in another thread, but the change here is like night and day.

Also I love that “Dangerous/Treacherous Domain” skull is smaller now. It obscured too much screen before.

Definitely agree on the orbs. I’m testing both huds equally atm but when the patch launches proper, I dont see myself going back to the old bars.

I don’t know what some people are going on about. The new UI absolutely slams IMHO. The only suggestion I would have about any of it would to make the orbs a bit bigger.

I know that some people have mentioned some clarity issues with font being fuzzy (IIRC) and such. I could see that but I personally barely noticed.

Honestly, the new UI with the spheres has become my favorite; maybe with slightly larger spheres it would look great.


The way we view the minimum and maximum stats of items will help me clean up my trunk and have more space in it.

And the cherry on top, that combat mode on the home screen 1000/10.

I also like that the filigree on the new UI seems a bit less saturated than in GM198. Looks more like metal, less like gold now.


Think the combat stances could be improved. The character could hold a two-handed weapon with one hand slightly closer to the center, as shown in the D4 image. If the character runs and holds the weapon in this position during gameplay, it would be much better.

I’m not a fan of the combat stance personally. I didn’t see an option to change it but if there is one I would 100% choose the old stance.

Apparently there will be new idle stances later in the PTR.
