My character is at the moment level 8 so at level 10 I get to choose the second class for this build. Now so far with the Soldier I have been distributing the Attribute points to get this …
But because the Occultist is a magic class I am uncertain about the best way to spend the attribute points once I have the second class? Which order would be best for Drizzto’s Witchblade build?
A) Phys / Spirit / Cunning
B) Spirit / Phys / Cunning
C) Spirit / Cunning / Phys
Or another order be better for this build?
My second question is about the health bar. I tried to find info on the game Wiki and the New Player Compendium. ( To be honest I did not search very hard, but still. ) There is a transparent yellow bar on top of the health bar that seems to slowly go down. But at times it suddenly gets filled again?
Mostly Physical if you go in Grimtool and move on the stat it will show you how many point was spend by the character for each stat.
I will be honest with 21 in Spirit I’m pretty sure it was something else before being that Witchblade since the highest requirement is the dagger (at 425). Still it is giving you a good idea that you drop nothing in Cunning most (if not all?) in Physical and a bit in Spirit to help you wear some stuff along the way if you need to.
TBH most builds don’t really trouble themselves with how you level up. Some do, of course, but many don’t.
For example, with a Witchblade, you could go to Soldier until level 20 by maxing out Blade Arc and grabbing a two-hander. Take Blitz for mobility (a couple of points mebbe) and maybe Menhir’s will or whatever.
Then go to the chick in Devil’s Xing and re-spec into WB. As long as you haven’t put all your points into the mastery bar, you should have plenty to re-distribute. I’ve noticed that a lot of top-tier builds don’t lend themselves to satisfying gameplay as you level up, and in fact that’s the time you can experiment for yourself. As a WB, you could flirt with DEE versus CoF then re-spec. Or go for a chaos / vitality build instead.
Then, when you’re hitting the 40-levels mark, re-study the build and re-spec accordingly. Same with devotions, just make sure to farm enough aether crystals.
I’m currently destroying elite with the ‘OJ Chaos Tank’ WB build (level 65) which is outlined on the forum. It’s really good fun if you want a two-hander build that’s a complete blunt instrument. I’ve followed the devotion guide, but not a lot else until level 40 and its been great fun.
Don’t think there are really many bad/stupid questions/things you can ask about Grim Dawn. For an indie team of just 10 people, Crate made Grim Dawn quite deep in it’s mechanics. What other ARPG’s have 16 (I think about 4 too many) damage types and have items, skills and devotions that can convert one type to another?
You absolutely need 21 in spirit because highest requirement is Dreeg chest 574.
Stating that in early stages of the game you can go all phys and later on, when gear requirements get higher, start investing in spirit.
Well I restarted yesterday, and reached lvl 11 so far. And till now I have been putting 1 point in Phys and then the next level 1 point in Spirit … 1 phys then 1 spirit. ( Rinse and repeat so far. )
