Someone here explain Demo's transmuter skills to me right now

It’s pretty commonly accepted that Demo is a very point-hungry class, so it makes me wonder why Quick Jacks, Concussive Bomb, Searing Might, and Searing Strike are all 3/3 transmuters, especially when there is never any reason EVER to go 1/3 or 2/3.

I mean, I can understand Searing Might/Strike. The other examples of 3/3 transmuters that I could find, such as Might of the Bear, Consecrated Blade, and Manifestation, all just kind of amplify damage you were going to be probably using anyways with those skills; they just fit a more niche archetype. I guess it makes sense to have what is essentially a straight buff for a skill (under specific circumstances IE. two-handing or whatever) take more than one point.

But Quick Jacks and Concussive Bomb are the same sort of modifiers you see for Forcewave with Tremor, or FoI with Tainted Flame. Yet those skills only take one point and Demo Skills take three. Why?

Also yes Discord is stupid to for this same reason, but at least soldier isn’t as point hungry as Demo.

maybe crate put the 3/3 on demo transmuter to make demo even more point hungry to make demo build harder to built around?

That is very debatable. I have several Demo builds with no point starvation. In fact in some i have so many points that i end up capping stuff like Vindictive Flame just for extra regen.

Its a relic of the fact they already have those cost. Bringing the cost down could have issues with deleting skill points. They could fix it by just frontloading all benefit in the first rank and not having a rank 2/3 have any change, but would look bad regardless in that case.

The only way they can get rid of these cost is to rework the skill tree nodes, but unlike adding new nodes, which have no impact on builds already existing, removing the skills in a patch could actually cost the build those skill points for good.

This seems like a very odd problem to have. Is a potion that resets all skill points at once based on level + quest, similar to how the devotion and attribute potions work, doable in the game’s engine?

In the past, Quick Jacks is the only one where it’s debatable whether to go 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3 due to the energy cost on Stun Jacks. Rest are usually an all-or-nothing deal though.
