I am already set on the necromancer; those will be Deathknight, Reaper, Ritualist & Cabalist, in that order - each of these four will have unique play styles: tank, melee dps, vitality caster and pets.
But I find this more difficult for Inquisitor: I can only imagine variations of the elemental dual wield gunslinger.
I narrowed it down to four options, each with their own auto-attack replacer:
Option 1: Tactician (Soldier) Cadence with 3/3 discord (haven’t checked yet, but I think the internal trauma is that also converted to the respective elemental dots)
Option 2: Purifier (Demolitionist) - Fire strike. This was originally my first choice with the Ulzuin set until I realised this is made with a 2-h included - perhaps expansion will give a nice Purifier set? Or consider doing a 2-h inquisitor. Focus on Fire / Lightning (secondary)
Option 3: Mage Hunter - doesn’t have an auto attack replacer, but can use Shard of Beronath if they make it useable on one handed gun. Not sure if Mage Hunter would beat Tactician though
Option 4: Vindicator - Savagery, the stream looks pretty nice. Lightning and Bleed
Other options:
Infiltrator - not sure I see the same synergy there as with the four above. Cold/Pierce suggests a nice combo. Probably gear dependent builds (legendaries/set items)
Deceiver - I think I rather have Pyromancer - perhaps items may change this
Apostate - Don’t see synergy at all - though the lore / idea of a fallen inquisitor is cool - again heavily gear dependent.
What is your future Inquisitor or necro combo going to look like? And why / what hints from misadventures/streams inspired your build?
I’m set on the playstyle I want, but not on which second mastery will convey it better. Purifier. That class title says it all about what I’ll want to achieve. Cleanse those barren wastelands with insane range dps, even at the cost of being more squishy. Question is, will inquisitor+demolitionist be the best purifier.
Dual guns inquis/nightblade abb/lethal assault, dat icetrap, inquis guns weapon procs (cold one and elemental dmg one) and that inquis offensive aura. Obviously a cold build.
I’ll most likely try Necro/Occultist first purely from watching Grava’s stream. I always put RR skills at 1 & 2 as they are assigned to my mouse thumb buttons. CoF will be 1 and hopefully Word of Pain at 2. I just hope its as good as it looks and that Necro has a heal similar to Blood of Dreeg. Rumour suggests we will get a free respect, I hope so cause I have many Witch Hunters that can loose their Nightblade skills and points for me to assign into a Necromancer. With all new skills to try I’ve no idea how it will turn out yet but can’t wait to begin.
I gonna say what will be my favorite but considering I have put back any Gunslinger (I did 1 Rifle Character) cause of the Inquisitor Passive my first character will be an Inquisitor. My idea is that Demolitionist will be hard to beat but we will see!
I’m expecting my first Necromancer to be either a Summoner (would also be a first for me while I did team all the way with a Conjurer on my 3rd character) or a Cold Caster cause TSS is good and I might keep a “fresh” version of my Arcanist that did complete Elite.
I hope there will be gear that would heavily support transmuted (Chaos) Flames of Ignaffar (if this is a skill similar to AAR, that’s how I understand it). Deceiver might just be great with insane RR from Word of Pain/Death Sentence + CoF. And since Flames of Ignaffar gets weapon damage then Possession, Solael’s Witchfire, Dying God would be really great in the build.
On the other side of the spectrum, Aether Mage hunter might be viable with Word of pain Aether RR. Good old AAR + Dev should be great.
Sadly, Necro doesn’t appeal so much for me so nothing for it.
Those two might be the ones I try first after levelling my current toons when I get the xpac. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna suck at these builds cause I’ve never played with AAR before.
Flashbang, Blast Shield, Vindictive Flame and the OA from Flame Touched is great for literally any build.
As for direct synergies, the flat damage from Flame Touched + Temper is good for pet builds/hybids.
Regarding OP, the first char i will try is a Flames of Ignaffar Deceicer.
( I know that with bis gear, Demo or Arcanist would most likely be better for such a build as second mastery but Occultist is much more convenient and easier to gear when you have pretty much zero lvl75< and/or Inquis. items which would be the case the day the exp. hits.)
First Necromancer will be a pet focused Vitality Ritualist. Skellies, Spirit and Briarthorn if i have the points.
First Inquisitor will be a Purifier using Mortar Trap and Rune of Kalastor. Maybe i can squeeze another skill in there like Grenado if i have enough points.
Why why? O_o… İsnt it obvious that ppl played tons of hours till xpac and have tons of items that give +skills to occultist spells? If they are revisited for xpac then your question may make sense.
CoF is the most convenient skill in the whole game and +100 poison resist from AotG makes gearing much less demanding.
For example, i chose Conjurer for my Storm Totem build over Druid or Warder just because Vulnerability and BoD+AotG (and probably for going anti-meta ) and i didn’t regret my decision.
I might be biased a bit though since Occultist is my favorite mastery flavor-wise.
Death Knight sounds like a good tank class, though many of the games I’ve played always called the class Shadowknight. Depending on the builds people make, may even have/need to use a program to change my Pyromancer gunslinger to a Purifier.
