Spirituality still an issue

I have one lvl 1 temple and 13 lvl 2 shrines and two more in the build on 1450 villagers.All housing as far as I can see has access to a shrine. Happiness is 98% and yet, spirituality is 55%. The footprint of the village is bigger than the temple covers but I am only allowed to build one temple. I am going to uppgrade the temple shortly but one would expect spiritualty to be more than 55% at this point?

The information sign says: ‘Your villagers are unhappy because they miss a religious meeting place. Try building shrines or a temple to solve the situation’.

@Zantai , I noticed you moved this post from bugreporting to general discussion. Does that mean 55% spirituality is to be considered normal under the circumstanses described in my post, or why move?

I suspect it has to do with the size of the population
When I lost many villagers, my population fell below 1400 and the level of spirituality reached 65%, now that my population has rebounded and is above 1600, spirituality has dropped again below 50%

How many spiriualistic buildings do you have? As all other statistics aims for 100% satisfaction I have assumed that this would be the case with spirituality as well, but maybe it’s not? If it is, I don’t see how it is possible to reach 100%?

I see your entertainment level at 100%, do you have more than 3 libraries or theaters?

I have a square village with 4 theaters covering all houses in the main village, lvl 1 currently being upgraded to lvl 2, and 1 library on ~1430 villagers. I have built pubs covering the main village, but I am not using them. I noticed building pubs renders happy points even if you don’t use them.

If that’s not a bug I’m not sure what is - building a pub then turning the building off to still generate happiness would seem like an oversight.

I have similar issue. I have lvl 1 temple and 13 shrines in total (8 of them lvl2 ) on 602 villagers, spirituality is still 57%…

Maybe it’s because of your city layout. I only have a level two temple and my 500 residents are 100% spiritually fulfilled. I put my temple in the center of my town so that it can influence all my residents.

It might be. But It looks like the range of the temple isn’t large enough to cover a city after a while? The info message I get also says that a place of worship is missing and suggests that I build a temple of shrines for worship, indicating that something is amiss. But it could also be the message that is wrong of course.

Spirituality generation will be buffed a bit in v0.9.1.

So I did some testing on this issue and found that placing shrines/upgraded shrines near defensive towers clusters improved my spirituality rates from mid-50’s to 100’s.

I don’t know if this is intended or a bug, but looking at the shrine details, it does show providing spirituality based upon the number of towers within range (example, when there are 20 towers in range, the spirituality provided shows 100% for that shrine).

I haven’t tried with any of the other buildings that villagers “live” in that aren’t housing since they typically are not built in large numbers, while defensive towers do tend to be built in large numbers away from the residential area.

If this is intended, then just buffing the spirituality buildings generation will have little impact as towers are still not going to be in range majority of the time.

If this is not intended, then removing towers and other non-housing residential buildings from the spirituality coverage calculation should resolve this issue with proper shrine/temple placement.

Would be welcome. Just tried playing around with the Altars in my current game. The Altar says providing spirituality to 9 buildings, six towers two fully occupied Forts and showing a net increase in spirituality of just 1%. With a few more altars it was saying 8 buildings even when there were not that many and for four new altars just another 1% increase. Could we have a spirituality radius when we click on the bar similar to the entertainment one so that we can see what buildings are benefitting from the altar?

Upgrading the Altars seems to have zero effect as well. On Easy with a nice map, my other indicators show 98-100% except spirituality and there’s not much I can do to improve that sad 46% :frowning:
