My first post here, and its only purpose is really to thank Crate and compliment them on the absolutely wonderful conclusion of Grim Dawn!
I have played Grim Dawn for over a decade now (scary to say). I played Titan Quest before that, and love that series as much as this. When I consider my time playing Titan Quest, I realize I have been following your team’s work for two decades at this point!
I am an avid aRPG lover, and have played pretty much every aRPG on the market. With this most recent iteration to Grim Dawn, I can confidently say this is the best one ever made. There are none that come close in my mind.
The shift to more of an RPG focus in Fangs of Asterkarn, the influx of secrets, the voice acting improvements (Looking at you Nokutari), and the various references to other game universes close to my heart scattered throughout the world, continues to amaze me.
I know you all must recognize the hard work and beauty you’ve created with this game, but I still feel compelled to let you know how impressive what you’ve made is. I hope beyond hope this isn’t the last game we see from Crate! I’ll preorder the supporter edition of what ever game you all make next!
PS: If you make a Grim Dawn II, give my guardian deity Empyrion some time in the spotlight!!
They certainly are making other games that they like to play. They already have a town building game which released last October entitled Farthest Frontier. There’s an RTS game in the works which will be set on Cairn in a pre-GD era and is partly the reason why we got a 3rd expansion for GD as the Kurn tribes will feature in the RTS. There’s also a survival game and yes, eventually GD2 will come in several years’ time. Pre-production work on it is due to start some time this year.
Is there a devpost or anything talking about that RTS? Same with discussing GD2? That’s some overload of hype for me!
Is the survival game out? Or is that also in the works??
I purchased Farthest Frontier when it released a while back, and have been basically just waiting for development to continue to open it up again haha.
Why? Crate make the games they like to play and RTS is their roots. Medierra got into game development by being a top AoE player back in the day. So no, it’s certainly not going to be shelved.
