Right, so from my testing with a rather glassy lightening melee WPS sab using this set I’ve found the following:
The physical resists and resists in generally are great, I did not expect to get 40%+ PR easily with it.
The cold and pierce conversion make for stupidly high sheet dps, because you’re kicking out pure lightening. To the point, if I went all in on lightening damage sources I could probably get 200K sheet dps for Firestrike with Myth. Stormheart.
However, there’s one major issues with - a lack of health on the items or even as a set bonus, because it’s a struggle to boost the health up to 13K and also meet DA/OA and resists from my experiences. Nothing major’s needed, either flat health or +3-5% total health would help hugely.
The Storm Orb skill is lovely, but any elemental damage build is going to be using Rowan’s Crown for obvious reasons. So while it’s useful as a source of extra damage, frankly I think it needs a skill modifier for Night’s Chill, to change the RR from pierce to lightening. Which in turn would make melee builds using this a bit more capable against Grava/Korvaak.
Otherwise, maybe some +skill points to Dual Blades would be nice, but I understand this is technically a caster set more than a dual blades melee set And that I am doing something nuts with it lawl.
I don’t expect it to match a legendary set, it’s just that a modifier would help this set fill a gap I’ve noticed here. Also, conversion is present in some blue items, like on this set and modifying Nights Chill would fit with the theme of this set as well.
This is a strange set, noone would use stun jacks part and only 1 shadow strike meme conduit build. Savagery part is fine, however it’s quite low on DA (most build has 2k2-2k3).
Don’t tempt me Because I could totally build a stunjacks build around it and then be awake until 4am again lawl ;-;
Already put together a Trickster version of my Sab build too… But got sidetracked trying to fix an elemental gunslinging Deceiver to be less crap so haven’t test the Trickster yet.
Or Zantai can just add lightning RR to Veil of Shadows.
But i’m pretty sure blue items don’t get modifiers outside of extreme examples like Will of Fate giving passthrough to Bursting Round to avoid giving the weapon passthrough as a base stat.
I mean, by changing cold resist to elemental resist, it should help with lightning NB, but by doing so, what will happen to NB fire build that use set like Mageslayer and Ember Calling?
That already exists in the mageslayer amulet. It’s only 8%, but as I’ve found in SR, 8% can make a big difference in kill times :3
Anyhow, did the Trickster version of my Stormserpent build and even after forgetting to summon the Blade Spirits to proc Crown, it was still wrecking. Just a bit more slowly lawl. Grava is still going to be a case where Cursed Tinctures are absolutely needed for Grava/Iron Maiden/Korvaak, all who art annoyingly elemental resistant.
Frankly, it’s not really needed as there’s plenty of -RR% sources for fire, and Ember’s calling adds -22% fire RR to Veil of Shadow which is definitely good enough given how much damage firestrike can output with the right build So even if the enemy is rather resistant you’ll be outputting enough damage it wont matter. Except of course against Grava, how you can’t just facetank due to his nullifying orbs of crap.
And that I am doing something nuts with it lawl.
