Yes, and the best option IMO is to combine it with Necromancer, as it provides massive flat damage boost via several skills (since pistol base damage sucks) as well as some WPS. Those flat damage might have different damage types (vitality, cold, aether), but it’s very possible to convert them all into a single damage type (vitality) in endgame.
Of course, to enable DW, you should use an item like Gunslinger’s Talisman.

anyway i was tinking in a shotgunner since i find this beauty, Mythical version.
You better start farming Gargabol for his guns then 
. But only Oppressor can make use of those, nor Purifier.
Hellborne is for retaliation builds, IMO. For Purifier, there is another rifle - Mythical Dreadscorcher. Or, if you dont have it, try Desolator, it can be crafted via faction blueprint so you’re 100% guaranteed to get it. And it’s much better than Hellborne for normal AA build.
