Oathkeeper is the best for DW ranged for a reason - great default attack skill, WPS and RR all-in-one.
If you want pew-pew, why dont try 2-h ranged instead? A Vindicator class has many options - lightning, pierce, fire…

I can’t vouch for any of these having a written build guide, or doing any particular endgame performance metrics, since I don’t normally do SR or crucible, however they’re likely to be able to perform well at endgame and they can be built, even if nobody has yet written down a guide on how to do it.
Chaos Witchblade and Vitality Death Knight. Both use cadence, and it’s important to note that despite what the game (and grimtools) tells you, you only need 4 points in fighting form to get 100% passthrough on your third hit. The passthrough amounts on both of these are very high.
Vitality Apostate. Go hostile with Barrowholm and farm Namadea’s Eye. I’ve heard that Aether Apostate with the Bonemonger set hits hard too, and I believe it, though I haven’t tried the Aether version.

There’s an answer to this question. And that’s Vindicator. Evoker Vindicator using Savagery auto-attack mixed with Inquisitor’s WPS. Alternatively you can go for Primal Strike and Sparkthrower as Vindicator again or Druid. Some DW Tacticians can work like Goredrinker. And there’s the Gargabol Defiler of course for reliable ranged build.
Well, Primal Strike pretty much sucks in endgame compared to Savagery + WPS.
And you can also make a fire Savagery Vindicator with Desolator (faction blueprint). It’s a bit weaker than Evoker, obviously, but still a formidable one (stronger than Primal Strike). Pierce Savagery Vindicator is also possible (with Silverbolt).

Most Purifier DW weapons should still work to a degree with Savagery/Vindicator as well. I need to test Barrelsmith, it’s interesting to see.

Barrelsmith Sorc is IMO still a very good build. Esprcially in SR I find it very reliable and piloting friendly. Never tried Barrelsmith on another build however
Edit: as its a caster build, not sure if it fits in the original scope of the author
Hmm I built a dual Dagallon Storm spread gun purifier a while ago, was lacklustre in SR to say the least. I wonder how DW vindicator would work with this concept. Shaman doesn’t really offer too much for DW but it supports lightning quite well, something Demolitionist doesn’t do.

Banana managed to find a way to make Dagallon tankier, although it’s hard task (especially if one plays legit) needing to find enough HP, physical resistance and life steal without sacrificing damage.
In terms of Dagallon guns lightning or Barrelsmith pistols one can use similar approach to Eard’s Evoker build. I mean Korvaak’s helm is great and versatile item, then you can use few MI items, Korvaak’s brand and Storm Spread amulel, Arcanoweave belt for +1 both classes, Eye of Storm relic or ranged one for better WPS and voilà. Other than that I’ve played few patches ago Exonerator Tactician. RR and damage are slightly off compared to top tier ranged builds but it’s definitely playable build.
