[Suggestion] Aether Sigil of Consumption conduit and hybrid builds

image

Today I was taking a look at this prefix for the occultist conduit, which makes the Sigils a fire/aether hybrid.

  • If you wanted to make the sigils purely aether, you can convert ~50% of the fire to aether with an arcanist belt which isn’t bad and fits nicely on a clairvoyant build, either warlock or cabalist.

  • However if you were to build hybrid, the fire+aether support isn’t spectacular, the only skills I can think of that could be fire+aether are arcanist skills : AAR, CT (though the conduit breaks the Callidor set), and Devastation, but the item support is lacking.
(The aether Eye of Reckoning items convert the fire damage, and I don’t see a way to make aether+fire Flames of Ignaffar)

However, and here’s my idea :

What if the conduit converted the fire instead of the vitality damage ?

We get an interesting aether/vitality hybrid that fits very well in a few builds :

  • Clairvoyant set
A perfect fit for adventurous warlocks ; another option for cabalists to use beside aether Ravenous Earth, acquiring global conversion to make both skills 100% aether is also possible by “sacrificing” some item slots (belt, ring and/or weapon).

  • Diviner
Again, a perfect option for warlocks/cabalists. Sigils + Devastation is a very fun combo though hard to support right now ; the cabalist side would be similar to Clairvoyant’s.

  • Ascendant Source
Obvious support for aether+vitality Sigils, can be paired with Drain Essence, perhaps with the Uroboruuk set, in which case global vitality to aether conversion is still attainable.

With the current item support and the easier access to vitality > aether conversion, converting the fire on the conduit would create more diverse builds, that would also be easier to create.

Let me know what you think, if I missed an easy way to build fire+aether around this conduit, if my idea would create concepts too overpowered, or just what you think about the changed effect of the skill.

Literally was having the same idea, but thought nobody would care whatsoever. Easy +1 from me!

I think i would try this with a Callidor’s Tempest and Devastation arcanist. I love me some enviromental damage casters. They get out of control after level 84 or 94.
