I have recently, after about 1 year of attempt to craft a +5 mortar badge, finally did it. This was one of the most frustrating experience i had in Grim Dawn!
Given how Crate have tweaked crafting cost and generally lowered the hurdle to get the desired loot, i think Badge of mastery could also receive some of those attention, as it enables some builds and contributes to diversity.
The easy way is just to cut down crafting cost like the recent conduit change. Or add new lvl 94 variants similar to conduit and divide them into mastery specific ones.
Please consider this proposal and thank you for the great game!
/jealous. I been trying to craft one with over 800 hrs and that’s not counting my group crafting badges. I have a +3 mortar…I can’t echo this suggestion enough and have asked for the same thing in prior threads. I hope I can get one before another 800 hrs.
Edit: however to be fair the cost to make a badge is much improved.
I would throw 100 badges worth of mats at it if I could somehow reduce the rng or not use gdstash.
@Valinov I would also like to see mythical version rather than the easy way out of cutting crafting costs further. I’m not even that concerned about unique procs and such, just getting the desired +5 skill without grinding your soul away would be much appreciated.
@Shadowpast Hang in there, you’ll get there… eventually. I couln’t believe my eyes when Angrim casually haned me that +5 mortar one, lol. I generally craft them in 5 pieces batches, and over the year i have emptied my ancient hearts stash several times over. So, regardless of the reduced crafting costs, it’s still prohibitivly grindy.
