[Suggestion] Loadouts?

So,classes have a bunch of different builds, and often times i feel like i want to try different kinds of builds with them, but to do so you have to sacrifice sooo many hard to craft mats

I found that its easier to simply make duplicates of the same class instead of switching mats around

It starts getting silly having 3-4 of the same class when the game is already full of so many classes to make lol (this is a good thing i mean)

So my idea is simple…can we please get some kind of loudout save system? we save our current character, and when you change its gear/mats/enchants,you can swap between them as long as those mats were not deleted ofc.

confused about that one  you mean blooms/seals etc to provide the new build with end game components relics Myth helm etc? - then that kinda seems how it should be/intended, no?

if that’s the issue, and you are already saving costs by copying your save file, why not “just GDstash” the mats/item you need anyway? :man_shrugging:

the rest i understand, i think

yeah,i mean the blooms/seals and whatever for the components,i like to make many chars and try different stuff so i am always lacking as it is

i dont want to rely on stuff like gdstash as thats basicaly playing with cheat codes/god mode active,im not copying my save file,i am suggesting a system that basicaly ‘‘snapshots’’ your character, and you can swap between them, the same way you swap loudouts in a call of duty game

then i’m confused about that part

image unless you’re duping save file i don’t undestand how you “save anything” or what makes it easier
since having kit 1 2 3 on character 1 would have the same cost as having 3 normal made chars with each loadout/the only thing you save is respec iron - which at endgame, even at respec cap of 15k per point, shouldn’t be that big an issue?

ye that part i get
no idea if GD can do that, but over time it has felt like GD “intends” for you to make separate characters, even if its the same class, to do a different build

it’s even repeatedly mentioned by vets, and myself, that if respec so many times you find respeccing a hassle/expensive, or reach respec cap, then you’re respeccing too much and should make a different character instead (assuming it’s not char nr 1 where you’re trying out a ton of stuff)

im sorry if the way i phased stuff was confusing:D
i mean i make duplicates as in i make a new character normaly

not your fault  - i see “duplicate” and automatically jumps to “duping stuff” in my mind

could be cool if GD could handle loadout/build swap like that tho, not gonna hold breath for it at this stage in time tho :pensive:

Diablo 3 has this feature called Armory - switches items, skills, gems on 1 character.
I love it in this game because you can switch between various variants of your build fast: “key farming”, “normal rifts”, “low greater rifts”, “pushing” etc. I had multiple variant of Whirlwind Barb. In Grim Dawn I haven’t felt the need yet.

ye when dual spec was first introduced in WoW i probably physically jumped in my chair and cheered :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: , made some of my characters a whole lot simpler to raid with :ok_hand:

likewise, “alt’ing” just feels so right here :yum:

Oh yeah, the need for it in d3 feels more waranted, but gd also has its places, like playing normal would be different than going against celestials

But also simply playing multiple builds just for the fun of it
