Temporary shelters, don't we need a well next to it?

Or does the temp shelter get sticked with water? I don’t know.
If not it would make sense that we should place a well right next to it I think.

Not only Temp Shelters, but if you have more than 2 - 3 workers, hunters, foragers, fishers, or any other Outdoor Types away from the village, it’s not a bad idea to have a well nearby - I’ve had periods where I was losing one villager a year to ‘dehydration’ even though my town was well-watered and provided with wells, until I checked and found out they were all among the people away from the village, none of whom apparently have sense enough to trot over to the nearest water’s edge (I’m on a Lowland Lakes Map - it’s not like there isn’t any water around!)

lol yup, died of dehadration by the river

That’s why I started to build Wells on the way from work places to homes/city center. Like just in front of gates etc. Edit: I also plant fruit trees like that - on the pathways or near Temporary Shelters.

If you have the stone and builders handy, extra wells certainly don’t hurt anything, but I found that 1 - 2 wells in the area where I had a couple of Temp Shelters (serving 2 work camps and a couple of mines) and about 4 Hunter/Forager huts was enough to stop the dehydration losses. As I push my resource gathering further out from the town I will no doubt have to add more.

What is intriguing - and a sign that the AI as applied to individual villagers probably needs some more work - is that the affected villagers will go further to a well than the distance to ‘natural’ water like a lake or water edge: they are programmed that the only drinkable water comes out of a well, apparently, and will die rather than take a chance on the lake.
