Terrible lag after moving my computer

Hey guys, new grim dawn player here. Yesterday I downloaded the game at a friends house, played for hours and the performance was smooth as butter. However, once I brought my computer back home, I suddenly had horrible lag. I have tried reinstalling the game, messing with settings and restarting everything including my modem. If anyone has any insight on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

System specs:
GTX 980
i5 4690k

Edit: I’ve also made sure my monitor is plugged into my GPU and not my motherboard.

it’s probably your ISP. A gtx 980 would have absolutely no problems running this game.

Considering all the game’s assets are stored on the PC, I doubt this would be the case unless he was using steamcloud. Even then…
