Thanks for the 1000 Hours of Gameplay. What I've learned, suggestions and saying my goodbyes

I started playing this game when it was fully released back in 2016. I know

that this game was in development since 2010 though. This is probably one

of the best arpg games that I’ve played on the market. I played Path of Exile

4 years ago but could never get into it after the first play through. I never

played Diablo 3 either if you are curious. But this game wins overall in my

opinion because you don’t need to be ONLINE in order to play it unlike the

other 2 arpg’s that I mentioned. The fact that I dumped over 1000 hours into

this game easily makes it one of the top games that I’ve played since I’ve

been gaming. It reminded me of the days when I played Runescape in 2004-

2009 but much more fast paced and way more fun. I did touch on your old

game, “Titan Quest” a while ago too by the way but never came close to

finishing it. I look forward to a possibly new arpg game from Crate in the

future and arpg games in general since it’s one of my favorite genres of

games now.

Things I’ve learned gameplay wise:

Vanilla Grim Dawn in my opinion was and is still much harder than with the expansion
My reasons why:

  1. No mythical gear
  2. 50 devotion points instead of 55
  3. Stats in general were much lower until the DLC expansion and therefore, died much easier.

[b]This game seems to congregate an audience of mostly adults/B]
This is something that I’ve observed throughout my time playing on multiplayer.

Spellbreaker builds do the most damage in the game because most enemies are susceptible to cold damage
I’d reckon a Spellbreaker should have a go at my min/maxed Forcewave build as I’m sure it would come close to the type of cold damage a Spellbreaker can do: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/M2gDEAgV

This game has a tendency to crash quite often
I have multiplayer confirmation of this by most of the random players that I’ve played with. I seem them crash a lot in-game too and they reply back saying yes, they’ve crashed, and it sucks… ALOT.

“Reaper of the Lost” is the most powerful nemesis in the game
Reasons why:

  1. Strongest continuously hitting fast attacks
  2. Wraith pets resistance reduction ability
  3. The only boss to deal the highest damage on me which is a 12,867 dps hit

“Grava’Thul, the Voiddrinker” is the most mechanically broken nemesis in the game
Reasons why:

  1. The Void’s Edge spawns… no comment after that.

Warder builds are the easiest builds to use to complete the game with
Military Conditioning and Heart of the Wild points in both soldier and shaman. Just such a large health pool when adding in all the end game gear and devotion points etc.

Veteran difficulty is harder than elite difficulty
The reason being is because your resistances are horrible in the beginning and are dealing with the same enemy density as you would be in elite and you are constantly trying to find good gear in veteran unlike starting out on elite with good gear from veteran. Makes sense.

Suggestions:

The crashing
The really only thing I would suggest would be to make a patch fixing all or most of the crashes. This is what is keeping this game from being a top tier game.

And that’s the summary of my experience with Grim Dawn. Have a good day.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

GD just crashed on me the other day and it made me realize that the game hadn’t crashed in months. It used to be so unstable that I usually had to launch the game 3 or 4 times before I could actually play. I think Crate has done a really great job fixing crash bugs.

Saying ‘‘good bye’’ when there is a new expansion coming up

Not sure, if Spellbreakers did the most damage they would had been hella popular. Instead they are in oblivion, more or less. Cold SS should still work, just not that great compared to it’s glory days.

I’d especially highlight #2.

You’re putting a bit too much important on hp, but it’s indeed among the easiest since it has access to both primal strike and forcewave and inherently tanky.

Actually I think the biggest reason for this is enemies scale up their DA too high, and players have a hard time coping with that. It’s not unusual to have a build that’ll have like 90% chance to hit at some point on Veteran.

See you in Forgotten Gods

Grim Dawn has the most wonderful and diverse gamers base ever. There are people with over a thousand hours in the game who are ahead of meta or define meta and make top performing builds and there are people who despite being over a thousand hours in the game and frequently visiting these forums somehow don’t even have a slightest grasp of the meta and think for example that Spellbreakers are still op. Yes, I am talking about OP.
