Wondering which Seal’s people use the most on amulets out of the 2 and if anyone even uses Blazing Ruby?
Me personally, Seal of Annihilation on pretty much every build.
I think the level 75 requirement for Blazing Ruby should be dropped or it should be a ring component or it should be buffed to be more competitive because at the moment I can’t see my self using.
Annihilation is my default choice, it has speed and energy cost reduction and spirit and a useful proc, it’s really no choice at all.
As for the blazing ruby, your guess is as good as mine. If for some reason I would ever not use one of the two seals I would take a tainted heart. This ruby is kind of pointless.
Seal of Annihilation hands down. 5% Cast/Attack speed, energy cost reduction, 20 spirit and a proc that reduces enemy OA and DA by 70 and it can stack with Reduced Enemy DA.
I honestly can name more components like Blazing Ruby that are pretty much not used by anyone. They definitely need something to make them more appealing.
Seal of Annihilation is just OP, imo. I mean, Ancestry is okay, you will sometimes need it, but otherwise, why would you? Blazing Ruby is just a joke, hands down. I’d rather see it as a ring only component, because putting it to amulet or medal is almost the same as prioritizing a magic item over rare MI item. If it gave over 10% HP and 1000 HP, yeah, would be good to think about (because Annihilation would still outperform it because of what it does). I mean, don’t get me wrong, but it also needs a buff if it becomes ring component, because of Runebound Topaz.
Ancestry.
Stackable OA/DA shred is good, but hp buffer against aether/chaos is also pretty good. Stat-wise not every build needs attack/cast speed. 2H and cdr casters don’t, for example.
Annihilation, not even a choice.
The -OA/DA values are extremely generous for a single component and -Energy cost adds significant QoL.
That doesn’t mean I want it nerfed though—the other components should be buffed so the player has a choice, instead of automatically going for Annihilation 95%+ of the time.
I’m sure Annihilation is better, but by the time I’m at the point with a character where I’m thinking about crafting one of these expensive components, said character is usually well enough equipped to deal with almost anything in the game. At that point I just think…what would I rather have? A handful of extra stats when I can already kill everything with ease anyway, or the ability to harmlessly dance across rivers of aether ground and casually take Aleks-shaped meteors to the face?
I just find these little things more fun. It’s like a treat for getting my character to the end of their progression - being able to give a big fat middle finger to things that previously killed me in about two seconds flat.
I’ve never had issues with chaos damage. I always get my chaos res at about 60 - 80, I never try to overcap it because I never die from chaos-based enemies. I once made a build that had no chaos resist at all, and realized that when I was finishing AoM on ultimate (yes I fixed that after). So, as for me, it shields only aether damage.
It’s a strategy that works for MC but can really get you beaten up in Crucible when the wrong mutators pop up or Thalonis shotguns you.
That being said, annihilation all the way unless it’s a CDR caster or pet build. If Ancestry had corresponding amounts of chaos res, it’d be a definite contender, since chaos is the hardest res to overcap for most of my builds.
