The boss before the boss

Why is it the boss before the end boss is often more dangerous? Thalonis is usually more dangerous than Loghorrean. And I finished Asterkarn in HC Veteran for my very first run and Prodromus nearly killed me but Beronath was no big deal.

Depends on your build. I’ve never found Prodromus a problem, but Beronath has been difficult.

someone mentioned a “bug buff”/swap glitch where it’s possible Ult Prod is switched with Normal or something,
On steam someone compared their grimtools entries and the normal version had way higher scaling than the Ult so could be an accidental boss label switcheroo

Oh wow, that’s why his default attack chaos proj deals 7-8k dmg on normal/veteran at like lvl 60?

idono, i don’t have the db unpacked so can’t check in AM, but GT seem to suggest so

On Ascedant he may oneshot even the tankiest build with 5-lines attack. You just got lucky.

I just checked in asset manager, it seems normal/elite version has wrong skill level equation for this skill. charLevel*1 for skill with 60 levels means it maxes out at lvl 60 for whopping 2.2k phys and 3.8k chaos. Ultimate version has charLevel/4+1, so skill never reaches lvl 30 even.

Yeah looks like normal version it’s using the wrong formula.
charLevel/4+1 is the standard for damage skills
