I also didn’t realize the hood triggered on being hit. I thought it was the same as on crit like the secret. I run a AAR sorcerer with about 2800 OA, so critting is usually not an issue where as I don’t want to be hit… So for my build, the secret is 10000 times better… Plus I can trigger it off any of my abilities, so that is really nice! I use thermite mines and they can trigger it multiple times (assuming the first proc has completed as there can only be one at a time). For me, it will get triggered early and often and I don’t need to be in harms way to make it happen…
However, I can see now why the hood could be better in some situations…
Yeah I’m not using 1 point IIE with transmuter and Mirror, 9 point Inner Focus and working my way to Mental Alacrity and Star Pact that’s all I will be using from arcanist
Anytime some of the bosses spawn with weapons that deal energy burn i just groan. Just today Alkamos warsword spawned with energy burn and just three hits it would deplete my energy reserves.
This turkey is giving me some issues with my 2H Elementalist on ultimate. I usually have no problems with adds but his kept me from keeping him targeted somehow.
Blueprints are terrible to farm because the way they drop, the more you already have unlocked the harder it becomes to drop new ones. Outcasts Secret is just an item which makes finding it a lot easier.
Not sure that applies in this case, as the Helm BP’s are specific to the Sentinel. For other BP’s from trove/nemesis chests that is the case though.
I got the covenant of the 3 in about 5 kills, but took another 30+ for the Eldritch Gaze to drop (which was actually the one I was looking for). RNG can be a bitch sometimes…
I don’t think I’ve had a duplicate non-relic blueprint appear in my inventory yet.
I think it would be vastly preferable for these kind of items to have a very high chance of a blue print drop, but be very expensive to craft (possibly with crafting materials that drop only from other high end bosses at a reasonable rate to maintain the approximate effort-reward ratio intended by the silly low current drop rate).
Dealing with a one off super low drop chance is infuriating, especially if it only comes from a single enemy in the game.
Fighting it when it spawns with the Empowered Lichguard is very much unfun, and his ability to make pets confused is a pain the in the arse when running with a pet build.
But yeah, the drop rate on the epic and empowered versions of the helmet/hood could be higher, I can farm Bloodgut’s Seal far quicker than The Sentinel’s drops.
I’ve done a binge ~30 runs today. Got a double legendary drop of a sentinel, triple ancient heart drop from a champion pack leading up to it, still no blueprint.
