As everybody know, whenever we click to collect an item or to open some chest, the game calculates the path to it and the character moves by itself to the destination.
During a run at the Steps of Torment (which I had to do because I clicked on the door by accident and spent my key:eek:) I was able to click on a chest and make my character walk about 1 minute by itself until it got stuck on a corner. Here is the video.
The auto-pathing of this game is really impressive, it’s a pity we can’t use this to click on the map and make the character run automatically.
Did anyone else get super far automatic movements like that?
Sometimes, usually nothing that impressive though. You sort of learn the auto-path and super-dash routes after a while. Generally so long as it’s linked by a path on screen, it usually will be successful.
For instance, a few easy to remember super-dash paths are the spot right behind Cronley’s boss fight arena, where you can see the mobs down below on a cliff, you can use a dash move to go all the way to them quickly. Similar story in a fort on Askeran Road, you can see a ton of Aetherials down on the ground, and you can trigger a dash to them despite the fact they are at least 2-3 standard screen lengths away.
I think the reason you got that pathing is because your “target” location was on screen and usually linked by a barrier path, but the barrier blocked it so the game tried to path around it.
SoT can be such a biach with it’s barrier paths, worst I’ve seen made me do a full Z through nearly every single room in the level to reach the boss. Although another run it practically gave me an L, on the fastest possible path to him. Win some lose some I guess.
That’s nice info, Steelflame, I used this Cronley’s dash route yesterday.
Also, for the lazy people out there it is possible to skip many rooms inside the Tomb of Korvaak by clicking on the entrance to the second floor through the wall on the first floor.
