Hello there!
I played some pleasant shenanigans with fire builds, being a big pyromaniac fan. Among the builds I played are custom bombs SB, Ulzuin Sorc, Infernal Knight SB
I would like to give some note on the last one
Here you can see the setup I’ve come to Shieldbreaker, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.3) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
It still got carried by the synergy of the masteries and Demo health regen support, though, my point on the agenda is that the set became the forgotten child at one time or another and, when there was a cornicopia of buffs, Infernal Knight got missed.
The set extremely starves on raw stats. The build has
Chariot, Hawk, Torch = 12% oa + 90 oa;
157 oa from Flame Touched;
100 oa from Clarity of Purpose (I was obliged to invest there for such costly thing as oa);
~4% oa + 180oa from the jewelry alone.
Somehow I still ended with barely >3k oa w/o Ascension
Thus the thing I would like to ask for is 5% oa and da as a set bonus instead of reduced burn duration for 2 pieces. In case, if it seems too much, keep in mind that the set doesn’t have
%cdr;
%damage as a set bonus;
fire conversion for Judgment;
items that would support both its skills. You might check and find out that there are no offhands, weapons or jewelry that would provide useful mods both to BWC and Judgment.
I don’t agree with an OA boost. You could easily get 300+ extra OA from augments alone, then better rolled greens etc, or investing heavily into crushing verdict etc etc
you can easily cover fire conversion to judgment on ex gloves btw
set not forcing conversion is not a “bad” thing, as it enables that there weird chaos judgment there is item support for
Actually, no. one mustn’t forget about 30% elem res and 210 DA from Arcanum Dust
Even dismissing the fact, that the builds you brought to discussion is very different being spam BWC, there crucial points that are better to admit:
the difference in oa/da in our gts are almost solely due to the very item that differs spam and cd BWC.
you rather proved my point as soon as by gaining 200 oa/da, you sacrificed ~30% phys res, regen, dryad’s proc and amulet’s proc (which is the great one for sustain with vit conversion).
you ened up with covering your res with very expensive Kaisan’s, which is always a bad point for build defining itemization.
Tbh, no. IK can’t drop these juicy gloves with 100 oa. But I agree with you on the point of Chaos Judgment, I missed it.
yes, it can, your setup can’t
the point is, you have multiple sources of conversion possible, you are choosing to forego all of them in favour of something else, which is totally an option, but it’s then “incorrect” to label the lack of conversion as a detractor, imo
counter point; you chose to make your setup very tanky+fire suffixes, by that nature you sacrificed the offensive stats you desire
“pick and choose”, or as the weird saying goes, “you can’t have your cake and eat it too” (for some strange reason/never quite understood why that’s a thing )
And once you swap to green zarthuzellan book you can still get some OA affixes again, like aggressive of voidfire or whatever
in that regard it’s kinda funny how Smitherson presents you with ways “to make it”, but you then just decide to try pick it apart instead of accepting it’s doable if diverting from more tanky+scorching suffix path
you see this approach ex common on the "top"20 where they don’t just slap +magick dmg suffix on everything, exactly to fix or boost other desired stats to reach whatever total desired threshold
You chose defensive neck etc and +dmg suffixes, and are seeing the natural results of that approach
