Isnt birds still better tho ?
Man, the amount of pet healing and tankiness in your build is crazy! I barely see the pets take damage and the only time I’ve had to recast pets in a fight was on Mog.
It’s a bit modified on gear since I’ve had 0 luck with any of the Bys set pieces dropping, but I’m running with full BC, WoB neck, and glyphs of kel rings (so double briar instead of birds)… hopefully they’ll start dropping soon
With double Briarthorns? It lacks both damage and tankiness of the Double Birb build and I am even running Mogdrogen + Whirlpool
But it isn’t exactly bad, just worse in comparison.
Yes, birbs are better for now.
Damn I wanted the ele build to be the best.
Well now I don’t know what path I want to choose if ele isn’t that good.
Is your ele build using wind devils? You would think with a lot of rr and a 95 conversion to that type would be good.
Aye, ele uses Wind Devils for the -35% Ele RR.
The problem is, RR alone can’t fix if you don’t have the dmg to begin with. With double Birbs + max Lightning Strike it is a different story. Briarthorns simply cannot compete with that.
Trying SR with the latest Azrakaa physical build. Will see how deep I can go.
EDIT: Nvm, false alarm. Just go with Birbs for now. Physical builds are pretty much dead for the tougher content.
Maya, finally I was able to get the four pieces of the bysmiel set (it was a nightmare), so now I am slowly tailoring my build.
Based on a quick review, I strongly believe that it makes no sense to keep the bestcaller chest, when other chests as the Fiendmaster Rainment https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/1808 are insanely more powerful, not only for the item base affixes but also for the granted skill (Fiendmaster), which provides permanently
Bonus to All Pets
+30% to All Damage
20% Vitality Resistance
15% Aether Resistance
15% Chaos Resistance
What are your thoughts on this?
I am keeping BeastCaller Chest for the 2-Piece set bonus that provides +6% DA for the player. That comes in handy against High OA enemies.
You can go for Fiendmaster’s if you want more dmg
I think I’ll go with that, since I love big crit numbers on my screen (?)
Get the Mythical Version of Fiendmaster if you can btw, not the non-myth one.
yes
i’ll do that!
I noticed that in both your builds and in sigatrevs, neither of you take hellfire aura. The damage is low but surely if you have 5 or 6 pets it’s worth putting a single point into? Or is it just not?
Also, a question about leveling and priorities.
Should I wait til endgame for the Primal abilities? Is it worth maxing the shaman tree as early as possible for Primal Spirit and Primal bond…or should I just put in the 20 points it takes to reach Raging Tempest and concentrate on maxing Occultist skills like Lightning Strike and Manipulation.
Which does more damage while leveling? Having Primal Bond and Spirit with only 4 or 5 points in lightning strike and manipulation…or skipping primals and maxing occultist stuff like lightning and manip?
Cheers.
The extra dmg from Hellfire would be there, but in the grand scheme of things, would be barely notable due to lack of Chaos RR
And personally, I would say max Occultist first for more bang per buck. (or in this case skill points :p)
Thanks for the answer. Also, why no arcane bomb? It seems like a really good skill. Does it just not fit into your devotion build?
Aye, but with some changes you could get it.
Okay so leave the spirit kitty till later. Gotcha.
A pretty specific question for you. What pet should I bind Arcane Bomb to for most efficiency? Obviously curse of frailty is optimal as its spammable but I already have elemental storm bound to Curse of Frailty.
For binding to pets, is it the fastest attacking pet that’s best? If so, which pet has the best attack speed?
The bird has Blizzard and I dont have the cat yet so…
Out of the hellhound, briarthorn, Ognapesh and Blighted rift scourge, which would you recommend binding Arcane bomb to considering its 25% but can proc every 2 seconds?
Thanks for your expertise. I only got the game a few days ago. I’m learning alot while playing but it helps to have input from guys like yourself.
You can’t bind Arcane Bomb to pets
Also, Bind Elemental Storm to a Pet, I’d suggest BriarButt.
And what have you bound Shepherd’s call to? (Also what have you bound Mogdrogen to if you are playing the budget build)
I have Shepherds call bound to Dreeg’s Evil eye. Or at least I did for the first 40 levels. Their cooldowns matched up and the way dreegs split seemed to make sure it had maximum uptime. I’ve recently switched out of Dreegs and into Doom Bolt and have been running that for the last few levels. Seems to proc just as much and do more upfront damage. But I guess you could set me straight on that one.
I’m not running Mogdrogen. 15 second cooldown with 10 seconds uptime means its down a third of the time. The speed buff looked cool but it seemed to me there were better devotion skills to go for.
I have Sheperd on Doom Bolt, Elemental storm on Curse of Frailty and I’m one point away from getting Blizzard and sticking it on the bird, assuming thats possible.
I shied away from binding elemental storm to a pet because it has a 1.5 second cooldown and only 25% chance to proc. I can spam Curse of Frailty all day to make sure there are tons of them on the field. Surely binding it to a pet would be worse? That was my thinking anyway.
Take Mogdrogen unless you are going for Ishtak. Because there aren’t any better Devotion skills to go for on my pet build.
Don’t use Doom Bolt, it is wasted points.
Bind Shepherd to either Curse or Dreeg’s. Bind Mogdrogen (unless you really don’t want to get it) to the other.
Elemental Storm bound to a pet does more dmg. Blizzard can be bound to the Bird and is a good choice.
Thanks for the info. Why is Doom Bolt wasted points tho? It sort of saves 1 point because Dreegs requires 2 and Doom bolt only needs 1 for the same aoe effect. They seem to proc your devotions at about the same pace. Is it’s damage just way inferior?
Also what I liked about Elemental on Curse of Frailty is that you can cast it in the middle of groups where it can the most AoE. On a pet, wouldn’t it just cast on the edge of a group of enemies instead of the middle? And wouldnt it cast less frequently on a pet? With Curse you can cast yourself every 2 seconds and you can pick WHERE you want the elemental storm thingy to spawn. Or does it simply just DO more damage on a pet from a numbers perspective to make up for all that?
This is fairly enlightening to a noob. Cheers.
so its not worth leveling this character now cause of incoming nerfs? fck my life
