I love this game Grim Dawn has succeeded where Diablo 3 fails, the Item system is really good and addictive however it is not quite as extensive as Diablo 2.
I was thinking it would be really nice if at some point Sockted Items was added also rare rune’s because the game now has rare Items but i feel it lacks SUPER rare drops like D2 High runes for example.
How about adding new rare items which could be black colour for example, these are like Green rare’s but much rarer also with random affixes just more of them so it would be possible to get good or bad afflixes on these super rare’s this would add an awesome element of excitement too the game similar too finding your first High rune in Diablo 2 for example.
Also this game is so good on release i feel it has the potential too become huge and Kill diablo 3 in further expansions, the only big downfall with this game which really damage’s it for me is that it is offline mode so the competitive/teamplay element is diminished since you can dupe anything you want it take’s away some of the worth of grinding items by devaluing them and also cant be taken seriously as a competitive ARPG if hacking is allowed.
Do the Devs have any plans to make a pure online mode where duping etc is not allowed?
Also Devs do you have any plans to introduce Super rare Items such as High runes, even rarer rares (different colour more affixes?)
I believe this game could be alot better with these additions would like to hear your opinions especially if any Dev’s read my post. Also any other ideas which people have.
Well since it was designed with the primary focus to be single-player (and mod capable) it only diminishes in a personal capacity since you are putting expectations upon it to be something it was never going to be in the first place.
Giving that reality, the onus lays fully in your own lap.
My opinion, don’t count on it getting server-locked at this juncture in its life. The proper time for that to be a reality has long since passed away.
As for the rest of it, sounds like you want to play D2. Rather than making other games that aren’t D2 into D2, just play D2 then.
Or if you are savvy you could learn to use the modding tools and make the game in your image. Or in D2’s image. Whichever floats your boat.
The game is allready in D2’s imagine and is heavily copied from D2, i dont care whether its a D2 clone or not i just want too play a good game which Diablo 3 is not.
This game could potentially have a online and offline mode, they could implement a cosmetics only cash shop or something (not pay to win) to raise more funds , i would happliy put money into a game like this that is going in the right direction.
But longterm mutiplayer has more longevity than single player just look at Diablo 2 for example the most successful ARPG of all time, it was party the mutiplayer aspect what made it great such as the economy manually trading with players and the community feel that true multiplayer gives the game.
There is nothing stopping them from making a true online mode aswell as offline mode , i would imagine pure online mode would be very expensive too make and host but this game is good enough too grow and plenty of people would be willing too spend money on a game like this too fund more things as long as it’s not pay to win.
Then how do you explain my 6,000+ playtime hours of virtually all single-player?
It was actually made more in TQ’s image with some D2 dark overtones. Naturally the genre itself is Diablo influenced by that doesn’t mean they need to carbon copy each other. Why make new games if they are just gunna completely mimic each other?
I’m actually glad they are focusing on single player and not on multiplayer. I’m honestly getting sick and tired of games changing their focus to multiplayer or focusing on it at expense of single player.
Its possible too have both, the only problem with just this mode is you can hack/dupe do whatever you like so there is not much point in trading or making a real economy.
Yea. They never wanted an economy and if my memory serves about long written posts they basically said as much too.
There is a Legit-play clan on Steam for legit players who wish to keep it on the real. You don’t have to play with cheaters if you don’t want to and they gave you all the tools to protect your game ie. password and kick options. The power to play as you wish is staring you straight in the eyeballs.
As for being able to “dupe”, only you can prevent forest fires. You know your own morals and Crate doesn’t want to be your mommy methinks, as such, no holding your hand while crossing the street. Sometimes it is nice being all “growed” up and capable of making my own decisions.
I cant trade because i would not Dupe my gear and i would be getting Dupe’s in return for me this is what gives offline mode no credibility when it comes too trading. But im happy too just play solo since the game play is really good and i prefer it too path of Exile, and much prefer it too Diablo 3.
Make Legit play friends then. Like said, there’s a whole clan devoted to it and many people prefer to play this way.
I get it, I understand. What many people who favor the style of arpg you do tend to not see tho is that there is a player base for the kind of implementation GD employs. We tend to be the type who like freedom to play as we wish when we wish.
This isn’t possible in a closed server environment such as PoE or D3 implements. We like our mods.
